Brenda, Marine and I were hard at work in the press room when Zoe Lemonjian won her match. A couple of journalists indicated they wanted to speak to her. They were not Aussie press and it was obvious they wanted to ask her about the crisis.
‘You’re Australian. You go and get her,’ ordered Brenda.
I rose from my seat and walked down the corridor to the court. Zoe was signing autographs. I introduced myself and told her of the media request.
‘Can I have twenty minutes? I really want to shower first.’
