#ChampionsEverywhere, #PostCrisis The WTA championships were held at the OCBC Arena, built as part of the Singapore Indoor Stadium – all components of a mammoth sporting precinct very close to the city centre, only a couple of stops on the MRT (trains). Staff trained it – players cabbed it. The trains were so clean I’d probably have eaten off the floor if I had dropped something. The arena was immense, it was configured to hold three indoor courts and seat about 7,500 people for our event. It was a little tired inside, having been built in the late ’80s, but outside it was imposing. It looked like a piece of concrete origami, but apparently the roof was supposed to give the appearance of a temple.
