The next day in class Taren avoided my area. I’m not sure why but it hurt a little. I honestly couldn’t keep my eyes off him, watching him walk the floor teaching. I honestly couldn’t tell you what he was saying because the only thing on my mind was trying not stare at his ass. Then I heard the girls next to me commenting about the same thing I was thinking. How amazing his back side was. Well too bad bitches that mans mine.

The bell rang and I moved to gather my things, Marlow nudged my arm with his and nodded his head towards Taren. I looked up from my desk to find His eyes locked on me. I blushed, and gave a small wave. “Miss, Thrain please see me at my desk.” I blushed harder as a group of girls passed with giggles. “ill see you in the next class.” I waved to Marlow and headed down the steps to Taren, and waited for the room to clear before actually reaching his desk. “Yes Mr. Thrain did I do something wrong?" He smiled as our gazes met. “Nothings wrong I just kind of wanted to see you.” I laughed. “and why is that?” he didn’t answer but I knew what he was thinking because to be honest I just wanted to be close to him too. We were silent for a few moments before he broke the ice. “So dinner. What are your favorites?” “ You wanna talk about dinner?” I asked smiling “no not really. I want to talk about this class actually, without being to awkward.” I snorted. “ Don’t worry teach ill turn in all my homework no special treatment.” “oh good because I wasn’t going to let you off easy.” We both started full on laughing now. “ so what are your favorites for dinner?” he asked again. “Tacos all the way.” I looked toward the door and sighed “I really should get to my next class. I missed yesterday and Mr. Dorsey hates when we miss days. I’m sure I’ve got a lot of make up work to do.” He stood from his chair then and walked around his desk to me. “That I can get you out of.” He smiled and handed me a note. “Thank you.” And before I knew it I hugged him without even thinking. I backed off quickly. “sorry I don’t really know why I did that.” His eye brows came together. “ why are you apologizing?” embarrassed I pushed my hair behind my ear. “ because I just threw myself at you?” he smiled then “it’s fine, actually I liked it.” It was my turn to smile then as I started for the door. “Hey Miss. Thrain” He called “Its Taren after class by the way.” I laughed. “well Taren, its Melinda all the time.” I winked and then walked out the door.

The rest of the day passed in a blur. Thanks to Taren I got out of extra assignments from Mr. Dorsey and man oh man was I grateful, be the amount of assignments already building on my to do list were getting out of hand. I cursed as I remembered I also had a paper due that I hadn’t even started yet. But how was I even supposed to think about all these things when Taren and all his sexiness was all I could think about. This Friday couldn’t come fast enough. I texted Marlow.

Me: hey wanna magic my homework done?

Marlow: I mean I could but what fun would that be?

Me: You know you’ve never done a single assignment since we started school.

Marlow: very true. Check your bag.

And just like that homework done, even that damn paper. How does he even know without me mentioning it. I fired off another text and then slid my phone into my pocket.

Me: thank you 

When I finally got home, I tore my shoes off falling onto the couch. I have never been so exhausted before. I thought back on the last couple days. How did everything change so quickly? Before I knew it my mind was on Taren and I couldn’t help but smile. I have a Mate an actual freaking mate. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think me of all people would be mated. I mean hello my history with dudes is pretty shitty. Then my mind flashed to Daius and the man in black. What was I going to do about that issue? How did he even know where to send that guy? How did he even send him? When Mar and I fled the city we locked it up I have the freakin key to prove it. So how are they getting out? I didn’t have much time to think about it when my phone buzzed.

Taren: any chance you wanna do dinner tonight?

Me: I mean yeah but what’s wrong with Friday? Got a hot date?

My heart raced a little at the thought that maybe he actually had a girlfriend or something.

Taren: Well I mean I did but id like to see her sooner.

And that melted all my worries away.

Me: we she wants to see you too.

Taren: 7? Let me know where to pick you up.

Me: perfect
