Rain's POV.
Kylie and I just finished bathing in the school bathroom. She said she'd wait for me to return from the infirmary before changing out of her rugby wear.
The locker room is almost empty as we both dress up to head to the cafeteria. I'm so famished. I can't wait to munch on some snacks.
"Did you hear the news?" Kylie asks while I shrug.
"What news?" I blurt, shoving my sportswear into my bag and zipping up. "Mayor Grant lost his wife last night. There was an attack during your sister's betrothal party."
I stall as shock grips me. "Really? That's…" I trail off as Kylie completes.
"Strange. Anyway, the funeral will take place next week. Let's go ahead and eat. I'm hungry."
We walk back into the hallway, chatting and laughing as we shoulder past the students.
