CHAPTER 11 Burk was gone for the night on one of his weird unknown errands, and for once I wasn’t curious or annoyed. I was happy. I had the workshop all to myself and I was going to test that unknown, probably dangerous, spell written by someone I assumed was a mad magician. The spell was tricky, requiring many elements. I wrote a first list of what I needed and then I started a second list with all the steps required to implement the spell. Deciphering the messy scribbles took most of the evening. When I was more or less sure I had everything figured out, I rushed to the wall of materials to grab what I needed.
