We stepped out onto a wide platform made of smooth white marble that overlooked the northern side of the mountain. My soul felt light at the sight of spiraling terraces of plants circling the mountain with small rivers that cut through them. Metal cables transporting little boxes up and down the slope hung from the platform and led to somewhere far below. The stunning greenery of this mountain was another reason for me to fall in love with Paiza. Back in the Court of Wizards, the land, as if matching the residents’ hearts, was bare and harsh. We barely had even small plants scattered around the court. The only memorable tree was a massive oak that grew in the middle of the tall citadel, where the high members lived.
