Chapter 46

1010 Words
It was the spur of the moment as flashlights were instantaneous and people looked at me like they were hungry for gossip or a new scandal. I went from a queen to a victim in just a span of a week and four days. One hectic week to California and back to the damaged fate I had. Levy dragged me back to school since it was early to go back home and we had to attend all of our classes since they were important. He sent everyone a malicious glare and they immediately scattered. How could such people be so heartless? I didn't know anymore, it was like everybody was changing to the people who they never wanted to be before. It gave me a whiplash of emotions and I didn't know if I wanted my old life anymore. Levy was my protector for the day as the classes passed by, he would either shove guys so I could get to my locker without getting 'snapped at' by the guys and he would grab the girls' arms gently since he didn't hit girls, just manhandled them so they could stop bugging me with questions. At the end of the school day, I was worn out in Levy's arms with the former hectic questions barreled at me like I was a celebrity. It wasn't like that before when I was the social butterfly, it was just normal, people would still come to me for advice, small talks, and flirting guys but it was not as bad as this. I was sweating from the heat of the summer. "Babe, we are going to Dr. Alana," Levy said without asking me if I was okay with that. I gaped up at him and he gave me a stern look that said you are going and you can't do anything about it. He witnessed my panic and brought his lips down to mine as his nose rested on my cheek when we deepened it. It was my form of relaxation. His kisses were neither urgent nor too slow, it was my own form of sedative. I kissed him back but my eyes recognized the same sad girl sitting outside, she was a stranger since I never saw her from school. She appeared to be so shy and nervous about her own existence. Levy pulled away and told me we needed to go now but I stopped him. He gave me a questioning glance and followed my eyes to the sad girl. "Oh, that's Demetria Vice," he introduced her, "She's always a loner and she doesn't talk much. She tried to suicide last month but her parents stopped her in time," my curiosity seeped into me once again as I looked at the girl who had her head held down. I didn't notice my legs walking until I was right in front of her. She turned her up to me and I let out an audible gasp at the deep red double scars on each side of her forehead. She realized that as she fixed her short pixie hair to hide her forehead and she clasped her hands together so tight that her veins showed on her tanned skin. "S-S-Sorry," she stuttered with shame in her eyes, "please don't hurt me," she whispered softly when she made sure there was space between me and her when I sat down on the bench. Her eyes didn't look at me as she rocked back and forth a little and tapped her foot on the ground, her eyes down on her lap. Levy stood by his motorcycle in front of us and was holding his phone to his ear as he talked at a faster speed with stress evident in his eyes. "I won't hurt you, Demetria Vice," I told her and she widened her eyes at me for knowing her name, "are you a new student here?" I asked her as my eyes assessed her plain outfit. She played with the end of her pink shirt and bit her lip. "My dad works here and I wait for him so he could bring me back home," she answered awkwardly. She was such an innocent creature, she reminded me a lot of myself when it was my first day in high school. "And how are you?" I questioned with my hands perched on my lap. The girl was delicately stunning with caramel irises and her pixie cut. I didn't want to freak her out but my curiosity peaked when she hid her scars quickly. She was clearly stunned by my question and I guessed that nobody had asked her that in a long time. "I am f-f-fine," she stuttered, disoriented. "My dad is here, bye." I gave her a small smile and she waved at me before going to her dad's car. I was shocked at the fact that Mr. Smith was her dad when she politely kissed her dad's cheek and gave me a quick glance before riding into the car. "Princess, come on," Levy said in a stressed tone and I stood up from the bench and came over to him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me onto his motorcycle, igniting it when he rode in front of me. I engulfed his broad back and leaned my head on it snugly. After the sun followed us along the paths we drove by, we finally made it to the center, I didn't miss that part, that was for sure but felt like I had to do it since it was the part of my heal system. "What were you talking about on the phone?" I asked Levy, who ruffled his hair and adjusted his dark red shirt that contrasted with his pale face. "I was talking to my dad about a new business deal," he saw my glare and smiled, "his business deal, not mine. I told you I stopped for you," he bent down to kiss my nose. "Come in, Lia." Dr. Alana said with a sharp smile on her face.
