Chapter 24

1035 Words
There were always parts where people waited for the suspense to disappear, unveiling the sequence of surprises that had most people gasping for the results of their suspense. It was the parts where the hearts stopped and forgot to pump oxygen into the body's systems. Levy stood from our comfortable hotel bed and walked slowly to the door. As he looked at the hole, his eyes widened, making me stand up as well and take a look at the stranger that was soon to be revealed. My breath hitched at the sight of Mr. Denis holding a bunch of flowers as his sinister smile widened, causing a mix of traumatized senses down my spine. With a crooked nose and a haunted smile, his eyes stared into the hole as if he knew we were looking at him. "What should we do?" I trembled when I whispered to Levy with wide terrified eyes. He held me to calm me down and his other hand grasped his phone as he dialled his mom. He talked to her in a hushed tone of voice about the unpleasant intruder. I started to calm down as Levy informed me that his mom was on her way. I looked into the hole again and went back to bed as I sat with clasped hands in anxiety. I didn't want him to touch me again. Levy held my hand for me to stand up as he sat down and held me on his lap as he continued to end my anxiety with calm kisses on my neck, telling me it was going to be okay, but the flashbacks of that dungeon haunted me endlessly and I was scared that I would have to relive that. Levy seemed to notice my train of thoughts as he glared at the door with clenched fists, but it was my turn to calm him down or else that man would shoot him. "Baby, it's fine," I said as I stood up when I sensed the arrival of his mom from the sounds of her heels and Levy followed me to the door. His mom couldn't kill him due to the hotel's security cameras and she didn't have the device to discharge them. Levy opened the door with his hand holding mine as I was behind him protectively. "Long time, no see," Mrs. Christina greeted Mr. Denis, I only heard their voices, but Levy's back blocked my sight. I was going to stand beside him but Levy didn't allow me because Mr. Denis would trigger my flashbacks even more. "W-What are you doing here?" I could tell that Mr. Denis was surprised as his fear took the form of a human standing in front of him with a taunting smile. "Run along now, before I commit a murder scene here, I'm sure you don't want to have an encounter with the police," Her voice strongly reasoned and I could hear the trail of his steps away from us, making me sigh out in relief. We wouldn't have known what we would have done without his mom helping us out, especially giving us the advantage since she knew so much about them. I uncovered myself from Levy and his mom smiled at me as she took me in a hug, "are you okay, sweetie? Your face lost colour, you need to calm yourself down. Look, nothing happened and I am here," She assured me in her loving tone and I wanted to burst out from the heavy trauma I buried so deep inside of me. I hugged her back and smiled at the fact that I did have a motherly figure in my life, I wanted to be as brave as her, but I didn't have it in me to fight like her in a world filled with a murderous gang. It was one of a hell long week. I internally thought as his mom patted me on the shoulder and told us to be ready in an hour because she needed to go to her business meeting. "Baby, are you really fine?" Levy asked when the sound of the door shut by his mom was heard. I nodded with a shaky smile, but these four days took a big toll on me, since I was not used to it. "I'm fine," I answered. He frowned at me and I winced when my breasts ached again at the rough push I had from my mom's elbow. That got Levy's attention as he dragged me to the bathroom and pulled out an aid kit. After all of our affectionate moments, I was still shy about telling him that my breasts hurt from mom. I let Levy think that it was my arm as he rubbed ointment from the aid kit on my skin and I told him I was much better, but the stupid throbs continued to make me wince. The pain was so much that I shamelessly winced when I touched my underneath my breasts, he realized that as his mouth opened in surprise and a small red colour-tinted his cheeks. "I can handle it," I said and he rolled his eyes as he, suddenly, lifted my shirt off and massaged the area under my chest softly as my eyes closed at the little relief that spread on that area. A small array of bruises formed in a line under my bra and he frowned as he stared at them. "It's all because of me," it was like he repeatedly blamed himself and I was done with it, so I turned around with a glare. "It's not because of you, Levy," I said as I met his eyes with strong friction, "these are from you," I pointed to the beautiful coloured hickeys on the top of my chest, "and they are the best I ever got." I ended with a soft smile as he wasted no time in kissing my lips. I put on my shirt back after the amazing massage given by my kind boyfriend and went out to see Mrs. Christina in a sexy-looking black suit along with dangerous heels and a malevolent smile. "Let's do this." She said as we returned her ominous smile.
