Blue River Academy

The Arrival Part 2

‘It has been confirmed, she is at Blue River Academy. I will be sending you with a small group to join the academy immediately and retrieve your sister. Meet me at 3pm we will set the plan in motion.’ I nodded in agreement.

I went off to join the rest of the group, for combat training. Wolf combat training was much more violent than human as a training. We trained in both human and wolf form. Since I was still new to training in wolf form so I had been training in human form, proving that I was ready to train as a wolf. I was a lot better than the other wolves, fighting in human form but today was my first day training in wolf form with the group. I have had private training with Vik. But I was still not the best at fighting in wolf form.

I was paired with another wolf called Link who was experienced with different types of combat and knew how to fight in wolf form. Links wolf was light brown. He has black eyes that pierced your soul when he looked at you. Link was a great teacher.

We both changed into our wolves and went for a run to warm up. After our warm up we stood in the clearing and started to circle each other.

‘Are you ready to learn how to tackle a wolf?’ Link asked through the mind link.

‘I was born ready.’ I replied

Suddenly Link spear jumped into my ribs. He tackled me to the floor. He quickly stood up and put his front paws on my shoulder this made it harder for me to get up. As much as I tried I couldn't get him off me and get myself up.

‘If you want to kill a wolf you need to rip out their throat. This is a perfect perdition to do it. I will show you.’

He wrapped his jaws around my throat his canines digging into my soft skin.

‘This is how you wrap out a throat. You bite down as hard as you can and pull. It will take a few goes to get it right.’

He pulled back his jaws and stepped off me, I got up.

‘Do you understand what I did?’ asked Link.

‘Yes, I understand what happened’

‘You try it.’

Walked off a few meters and Link stood where he was. He was going to let me tackle him. I charged at him and flew into his side and sped up and pinned him beneath me.

‘Do you remember how to kill a wolf? Put your jaws around my throat.’

I opened my mouth and put my sharp teeth around his neck.

‘Good. Well done, Next lesson. How to get out of a pinned position. Are you ready?’

I pulled back my teeth and with that Link quickly kicked out my front logs. This caused me to lose my balance and fall on top of him. He quickly wriggled out from underneath me. Next thing I know I was pinned to the floor again. I copied his moves and quickly did the same to him. He fell on top of me and I pinned him.

‘Good. You have done well today Benji. We have covered the basics and end game of fighting in wolf form. Go and rest. We will practice again soon.’

I got off Link and let him get up. He was the best chance for me to learn the techniques quickly. I was a quick learner. My first training session went well I learnt a lot of new moves.

After training it was lunch I ate quickly went into the kitchen and made a chicken and bacon sandwich. The kitchen was at the back of the pack house, in the middle of the kitchen's a breakfast bar with a sink on the left hand side. The oven was directly behind the sink on the far wall. The fridge was on the other end of the wall. I decided to go upstairs after eating my sandwich and have a shower. By the time I have done this it was nearly 3pm and time to meet Vik.

I met Vik at the pack house office, where he was waiting for me we went over the plan and I got to choose my team I was taking with me to the academy, with Vik’s help of course. We went through all the members that had recently joined. Picking those who could use the extra help. Ruby was one of those people who needed the extra help but she was just getting settled in the pack it would be unfair to move her again so soon. We have agreed that she will take private lessons with Vik until she is ready to join the pack for group training.

We also chose some experienced members who can keep watch over the new members and guide them. Teaching them about out lives as wolves and the best ways to cope with the change. The experienced members were Jed, Noel, Pip and Eric.

Pip was 70 years old. She has been a wolf for 30 years, She doesn't look a day over 35. She had long luxurious brown hair that was slicked back into a pony tail. She loved wearing comfy gym clothes. Her leggings and long top with a jacket is her go to outfit. To see her in any other outfit would mean someone either found their mate and is at the mating ceremony, or someone has died.

Jed is tall with blonde hair and high cheek bones. He has blue eyes and is a bit of a player. He likes to sleep with girls and act like they done exist. Holly has been hovering around him like a lost puppy. Picking up any scraps of attention she throws at her. I have been paired with Jed. Vik says that he I can learn a lot from his attitude towards the pack was great. He was professional and understanding, he has many skills that I don't. Vik is hoping that i would pick them up.

Noel looks like he is in his early 40’s. He is actually over 100 years old. Werewolf perk is ageing slowly and loving for hundreds of years. He has a shaved head with a huge scar running down the left side of his face. He got it around 10 years ago when the pack was under attack, another wolf clawed him when he was fighting. Everyone is scared of Noel because of the way he looks. He is actually one of the nicest people I have ever met. He is patient and understanding, what a trainer should be.

Eric was your typical looking wolf. He was scruffy, he had shaggy hair that hung by his shoulders. He wasn't overly muscular but he had definition. He was in his 40’s he didn't look any older 27. He had been bitten when he was 20 years old by a rouge wolf who didn't care that he had bitten him and left him to go through the change on his own.

Noel, Pip and Eric had a group of new members each. Noel specialised in basic fighting and strategies. A beginners teacher. His group included, Rose, who had shifted a few days before me. She has turned into her wolf once. But is too scared to change again. Ash, who was the most recently bitten wolf. 3 days ago. He knew nothing about wolves. Tasha had been a wolf for 3 months she was a slow learner and needed that extra bit of help.

Once we were at the academy our plan was to blend in. I am doing all the hard work, trying to convince my sister that she is better off becoming a wolf. The new wolves will be learning how to fight and adjusting to becoming wolves.

Pip specialised in battle strategies. Her group included Rick, Nico and Josh were excellent fighters but either lacked the knowledge of battle strategies, stamina or fighting skills.

Eric’s group was the easiest since he was the fighting specialist. He had Link. Link was a great strategist and fighter. Link wanted to come on the trip. He is always looking for an excuse to train. Colton, Who had been a wolf about 6 months but wasn't a good fighter. Max had been a wolf just under a year but he wanted to learn new skills that would help with the packs future.

Vik had already spoken to the head of the academy and got us in. I was paired with Jed. We were in charge of every member that we are taking with us. We would be placed into the Council dorm. We would also be on the council as leaders of the werewolves.

Each group was put Into a dorm Noel was in dorm A with his group. Pip in dorm B with her group and Eric in dorm C with his group. We were given 15 minutes by Vik to pack our bags and say goodbye. We would be leaving in 20 minutes.

20 minutes later I was packing mine, Jed’s and Colton’s bags into Jed’s White Audi. He didn't want to drive. I volunteered, I liked driving and it was 4 hours until we got there. I had never driven an Audi before so I jumped at the chance to drive one. Not that we had many nice fast cars in the human camp.

Max, Nico and Rick shared the Black Ford Focus that belonged for Nico. Link, Pip and Josh pilled into Links White BMW. That was immaculate just like Link himself. Tasha, Ash and Rose shared Rose’s VW Beatle. Noel and Eric took the rear in Erics Ford Mustang GT.

We conveyed our way to the academy with myself and Jed heading it. We stopped at 2am for a rest break. We arrived at 4am welcomed by Professor Collins. She showed us to our dorms. We walked around and showed the rest of the group where their dorms were. Then Professor Collins turned to myself and Jed.

‘Benjamin, there is a council meeting at 8am in the council chambers I would like you and Jed to attend. We will be going over a lot of important topics. We have recently agreed to host some humans. We have agreed that brokering peace between all the species is the only way we can survive. We hope you can support this. You are here on the council because you both are the best at what you do. You both are the leaders of the wolves that have arrived. If you don’t support this change then the rest of the wolves wont.’

‘We will support peace within the species and we will attend the meeting in the morning.’
