The Date

The next morning I woke up to a knock at the door. I opened the door to see that Mace was stood infant of me.

‘Mace, what can I help you with?’

‘I just wanted to say that I think you are incredible. You are amazing. The power that you have is unimaginable.’ He confessed.

Tristan walked towards us. Obvious he had heard what Mace had just said.

‘She is an angel. That is amazing in its self.’ He corrected.

‘Yes, she is. I will catch you later Val.’ Mace said as he turned to leave. Clearly intimidated by Tristan. Mace walked off down the hall, avoiding Tristans gaze.

‘See you later’ I replied, Mace didn't turn around or reply. I turned my attention back to Tristan.

‘Val, Will you please have lunch with me later? I wanted to come and ask you myself!’

‘Yes, I would love too. I will text you when I finish my meeting with Camilla. We are having a catch up. I'm going to tell her what I have found out about me.’

‘That is a good idea. Don't tell anyone else though. Camilla can be trusted but you don't want this to get out.’

‘I won’t, I will text you later, I am late for class.’

‘No worries princess. I will see you later.’ Tristan took my hand and gave it a kiss before he strode down the hallway.

‘Where did princess come from?’ I asked intrigued.

‘You are a princess. You are the daughter of a great leader, and an angel. This is the closest thing to a princess we have here.’ Tristan explained.

I went to my classes in the morning and headed straight to Camilla’s office, where I knocked on the door. The door swung open and Camilla was stood in front of me.

‘Hello Valentine. Please come in.’

‘Hello Camilla. I have some news.’

‘Oh please sit down dear. Tell me all about it!’

‘I found out that me and my brother are angles. I have the ability to control other people. Multiple people as a time, of all species. I think that this is why the alpha of the river pack wants me. He obviously knows what me and Benji are. They want us to win the war. They already have Benji on their side. They are just waiting for me, thats why he is here. To persuade me to join him.’ I ranted.

‘I have known about you for years my dear. Since you were born as I am sure that others do as well. What do you think the fighting has been about. It has been about you and your brother.

It started 100 years ago. Back then there were a set of twins much like you and Benji. They were powerful, everyone wanted them on their side and fort over them. Those twins Mika and Lisa ended up dead caught in the crossfire. Since then the species have been fighting over the next set of powerful twins.

Us as vampires, including your father have decided that protecting you is the only way to keep you safe. Your father would explain things. Would you like me to arrange a meeting with him?’

‘That would be great if you could I want to know what is going on. What I can do? Why am I an angel? How am I an angel? I have so many questions.’

‘I will set up the meeting right away my dear. Don’t you worry.’

‘Thank you Camilla. The meeting is not urgent. We have a lot going on at the moment. Is there anything else you would like to go over?’

‘Yes, actually, that alpha he has been spotted hovering around the grounds. I don’t want you wondering around on your own. You will have one of the boys with you at all times. Take your pick. You know who the best fighter is. The choice is yours my dear.’

‘I got a text from him yesterday, he said ‘Im wanting you as my Luna, Valentine. I need you! I want you!’ I don’t understand why he wants me. When I can control him?’

‘He wants you as his Luna, so that he control’s other packs. Become a super race with you as his weapon. He isn't afraid of you controlling him as you will be his Luna. His equal. Does this make more sense my dear?’

‘Yes a little, Thank you !’

‘Thats ok my dear. I have another meeting to get to. I will catch up with you in a few days. Here is my number. Anything happens please call me!’

Handing me her number as I got up to leave. After I left I text Tristan. To meet for lunch.

He replied quickly.

‘Meet me at the house. I have a surprise for you!’

I rushed to the house, cutting over the lawn out the from ignoring the ‘keep off’ sign, where Tristan was waiting outside for me. Underneath the huge oak tree where he was holding a basket and a blanket.

‘Hey Val, are you ready?’

‘Yes, I am where are we heading?’

‘Its a surprise, You will love it’

Tristan led Valentine into the woods guiding me the whole way. Through the forest that surrounded the academy. We walked about 5 miles when Tristan finally spoke.

‘We aren't far now princess.’

A few minutes later they reached a clearing on a cliff, overlooking a Valley. Tristan set the blanket down and unloaded the basket. There were sandwiches, Cheese and biscuits, beers and crisps. It wasn't fancy but it was special.

‘Tristan this is amazing. I love it. This view is amazing!’

‘Not as good as the one I am seeing princess!’

‘That is so cheesy Tristan. I cannot believe you said that!’

‘Its true though!’

‘Thank you!’

The sandwiches were eaten and the beer was drank, while we looked over the valley. The trees were green and the sun was shining, I could hear the river running below us, the birds singing in the trees. It was magical. We sat and spoke about my powers, Viktor, combat class and everything else to do with school. Who we like and who we don't.

I pulled my phone out to check the time.

‘Oh s**t, Its 6pm we have missed the afternoon classes. We have been here for 5 hours Tristan. We need to head back before a search party is sent out to find us!’

‘I agree, we have been here for too long princess, it is time to go!’ He instructed while pulling me to my feet and packing up the picnic. Suddenly he stopped sniffing the air.

‘Valentine, run. Someone is coming, it’s a wolf!’

‘I wont leave, we will deal with whoever it is, together.’

‘I can handle this Valentine please go!’

‘No!’

A sleek black wolf with golden eyes that looked like they were glowing in the sun. He snarled at Tristan.

‘Change back to human form’ I commanded with a stern voice.

The Wolf changed into a human. It was the alpha of the river pack. Viktor.

‘Hello Viktor, what can I help you with?’

‘I want you Valentine. I need you! I will be taking you now, my Luna!’

He stepped forward

‘Aren't you forgetting something alpha ? I have control! I will not be coming with you! Now leave you will not return!’

‘You will be mine! It has already been foretold!’ He declared before changing back into his wolf and taking his leave.

On the way back I text Camilla to inform her of the unwanted guest they had on their picnic. Her reply was simple.

‘Ok dear, are you both ok? You controlled him? He wont be back for a while, not until your control wears off. If you think this is over you are wrong!’

I replied when I got back to the house and was heading to my room.

‘ Yes we are ok. He is gone. Wont be back. How do you know that my powers wear off? I don’t know if they do.’

I got into bed, put my phone on charge and put it on the table next to my bed. As soon as I put it down Camilla replied.

‘It is the same as the previous powerful twins. I am old Valentine. I was around when it happened.’

I led in bed thinking of Camilla’s reply. What must it, have been like 100 years ago. Lost in my thoughts I didn't hear the knock on my door. Tristan came nursing into the room making me jump out my skin.

‘Valentine, you didn't answer the door. I was knocking for ages. I thought something had happened to you.’

‘Tristan, it’s late. What do you want?’

‘I came to make sure that you were ok, after tonight antics.’

‘Im fine, Tristan. Im going to go to sleep. Goodnight.’

‘Can I stay? I want to make sure that nothing happens to you.’

‘No Tristan. I will be fine. Now leave. Im going to sleep. Night.’

‘Valentine please, I don’t want anything to happen to you. Camilla said you must have one of us with you at all times.’

‘Not when I am in my room. You can sleep outside. I will not have any ‘Body guards’ in my room. Now get out. It is up to you whether you sleep outside or in your bed down the hall.’

Tristan was shocked at my statement and how I fort for my privacy. Without another word he turned on his heals and walked out closing the door behind him. Leaving me to fall asleep in peace.
