[Zane Eliezer’s POV]
Ever since I broke the song and the piano, a strangeness has been lurking within me. I feel like something or someone will pounce on me once I let my guards down. There are stimuli, sensations, numbness, and confusion piling within me. Something in me seems to have changed, but I can’t figure out what? I had heard my heartbeats several times, but for the first time, I could feel it pounding when she hugged me. When she touched my skin and caressed my hair. When her trembling breaths collided with mine. When she looked at me, trying to decipher me. Never felt the pounding unveil a tranquillity when she said — it was all fine — I was fine. When she said that, I felt what it meant to be fine. When the calmness of her voice rendered me completely impassive.
