When the girls went to check the list Maddie was paired with Chris, Amelia was paired with jessica,
While Kelly was paired with Dave.
Kelly was super excited because she was paired with Chris, Amelia was so furious that she was paired with Jessica, she knows how rude and proud Jessica can be, while Maddie does not like that she was paired with Chris for a particular reason.
"I hate that i was paired with Chris." Maddie complained.
"Girl, i would kill to be paired with Chris." Amelia said.
"I was paired with his crazy girlfriend." She added.
Maddie laughed and Kelly laughed.
"Well i was paired with Dave, maybe i might get to ask him to invite us to that party." Kelly said.
"Dont bother asking, cause we are not going" Maddie said.
"Definitely not going." Amelia added.
"Yall..." Kelly got furious.
"Time's up, sit next to your partner." Mr Jones shouted.
Everyone went to sit beside their partner.
"You are all to recreate what i just did in less than twenty minutes." He said
"Your time starts now." He added, as he set the time on his wristwatch.
All the partners started conversing with themselves.
"Hey" Dave said to Kelly
"Hey" Kelly responded slowly.
"I'm Dave." He introduced himself.
"I'm Kelly" she also introduced herself.
"Yeah, I actually know you, you are one of the three scholars" He said
"Yes, i am " Kelly said as she blushed. He noticed her blushing.
"Oh my gosh, this is so embarassing" Kelly thought to herself.
"So how are we going to do this, I'm so clueless about this" Chris said.
"Don't worry, I've got you covered" She said.
As she started looking at her textbook to see the formular and started mixing some chemicals together, while Chris was just watching her.
While at Amelia and Jessica's table, the two were just looking at the textbook.
"Will you be able to do it all by yourself? I feel like there is no need for me to help you." Jessica asked
"What makes you think i can do it myself." Amelia asked.
"Well you are a genius aren't you?" Jessica asked rudely.
"I am definitely a genius, but we have to do this together, it is called a joint work for a reason."
Amelia said.
"Oh, i thought you were a nice person, turns out you are not. I thought all nerds are nice but oh...i can see that you are no longer a nerd."
"Whatever you just said, i didn't hear anything, i was too focussed on the textbook, please pass the other glass" Amelia said while looking at the textbook.
"You are crazy, lets meet at the party tonight and i will show you your place." Jessica said.
"I'm not going to any weird party tonight." Amelia replied.
"Oh, miss nerdy girl does not go to parties" Jessica laughed.
"What?, you know what, I changed my mind, i am definitely going to that party tonight." Amelia said.
"Whatever" Jessica said as she took the glass and started working on the classwork.
While at Maddie and Dave's table, one could tell from Maddie's face, you can tell that she does not like her partner Dave.
"Uhm...Hello" Dave struggled to start a conversation.
"Hello" Maddie said as she fixed her eyes on the textbook.
"Are we not going to discuss what we should do or how we should do the classwork?" Dave asked.
"Take your textbook and start examining the formular" Maddie said as her eyes were still fixated on the textbook.
"Ok?..." Dave said looking confused. Most girls would die to be sitting beside him, they would give him all the attention in the world. But he is shocked by Maddie's action.
"Are we not going to introduce ourselves first?" He asked.
Maddie sighed and said.
"Your name is Chris, my name is Maddie, are you happy now ?" Maddie said.
"You are so weird." He said, still looking surprised.
"Not my first time hearing that, take the glass and start mixing according to the instruction." She said.
"Are you coming to the party tonight ?" He asked out of curiosity.
"Yes." she answered without taking time to understand his question."
"Better, i thought you are just a boring girl with strict lifestyle." He said as he took a glass and started mixing chemicals as the texbook instructed.
When Maddie rose up her head and understood what he said. She just whispered to herself.
"Sh*t."
At Kelly's table the chemical in the glass sparked up amd brought the reaction that Mr Jones was expecting.
Mr Jones went there and examined.
"Excellent" He said as he continued to walk to the others in the class.
"Great" Kelly said as she gave Dave a high five.
"Are you coming to the party tonight?" Dave asked.
"I was not invited." Kelly replied
"It is my party, you are definitely invited." Chris said.
"I don't know, my friends are kinda not going."
"They are also invited"
"Thats not the problem, i dont think they want to party tonight.
"You better convince them."
"I will try again."
Few minutes later, everyone else chemical also started sparking up.
"I think you all know the importance of joint work now. That would be all for today, see you next class. Mr Jones said and he walked out of the class.
Maddie stood up and left without even saying a word or two to Chris. Jessica stood up.
"See you at the party" she said to Amelia and laughed as she went to meet her friends."
Dave and Kelly waved bye to each other, as Maddie and Amelia came to meet Kelly.
"We are going to that party!!!" they both said at once.
"Wait, why the sudden change of mind ?" Kelly asked.
"Well, for me, I was arguing with Jessica and at the end of the argument I agreed to come to the party." Amelia explained.
"Well for me, it was not an intentional decision, Chris asked if I was coming to the party and I told him yes, cause I was too focussed on the book in my hands." Maddie narrated.
"Wow, that's a lot for me to process but anyways going to the party it is." Kelly said.
"She I even got a personal invitation form Dave himself." Kelly said touched her hair.
"You did ?" Maddie asked.
"That's a step up." Amelia said.
