Our Last Dance

Chapter 10

Maddie entered the car and waited for Amelia and Kelly to enter, after they entered, she didn't even waste much time, she stepped her foot on the gas and started driving very fast.

"Would you be slow a little bit?" Kelly asked.

"Yes, reduce the speed of the car." Amelia shouted.

Maddie didn't even glance through their side and she didn't even care a bit about what they both said and she continued to drive fast as she could.

After they got to school the girls alighted from the car.

"Maddie, i fear you would be the end of me." Amelia said while catching her breath.

"I think you already killed me three times in the car." Kelly also said as she was breathless.

"Girls, y'all better get used to it, that's how I will be driving now."

"I will rather call a taxi." Amelia said.

"Yeah me too." Kelly added.

As the three girls walk down the hallway, everybody was staring at them and looking at their phone at the same time. They made it so obvious that they were looking at them.

"Why are they staring at us?" Amelia asked.

"I don't think they are staring at us exactly." Maddie said.

"They are staring at me." Kelly said.

"Oh snap." Amelia shouted.

"Why in the world will they be staring at you?" Amelia asked.

Maddie and Kelly looked at amen with a very serious look.

"Oh f**k!." Amelia shouted.

"Yes.. f**k!." Maddie also shouted.

"Ooh hot!!" One of the student shouted.

"Hey, you are so hot." One guy said as he walked towards Kelly.

"Hey back off!!" Amelia and Maddie shouted as they were defending Kelly.

"Oh my Gosh, how lucky for you to be flirting in the pool with Dave." Another girl shouted form afar.

"Girl, ignore them." Maddie said.

"Yeah, most of them are actually jealous." Amelia added.

"Yeah, I know, I will soon be dating a star." Kelly said as she continued walking.

"So, yeah, I forgot to tell you girls, I am trying out for swimming today." Amelia said happily.

"Wow, a step up." Maddie said.

"Don't worry boo, i'l be rooting for you." Kelly said.

"Thank you, I know I'm gonna crush it." Amelia said.

"Definitely!!" Maddie and Kelly said.

"Hey!" A voice called out.

The three girls looked up and saw Dave right in front of them, Kelly was blushing, you could tell.

"Hey" Kelly responded shyly.

"Can you come for a few minutes."

"Girls, I'm sorry, will you please excuse me?" She said as she ran towards Dave and held his hand and she followed him to where he was going.

"Oh dear sweet love." Amelia said.

"Yeah whatever." Maddie said.

"Oh shoot, I think I'm late for my swimming tryouts." Amelia said as she looked at the watch on her hand.

"Good luck!" Maddie cheered Amelia on.

As Maddie was walking towards one particular class, she saw Francis. She then decided to call him.

"Francis!!!" She shouted.

"Hey." Francis looked back and waved to Maddie.

"How are you doing?" He asked.

"I'm doing good, or not?" Maddie said as she laughed.

"Sorry about yesterday." Maddie said.

"What? That was nothing." He said.

"I know my friends gave you a tough time yesterday." She said.

"But, I offered to help, and I don't regret helping." He said.

"Besides, I don't think only you could have handled those girls perfectly well yesterday." He added.

"No lies told." Maddie laughed.

"Those girls are really one headache, but what can I do without them." She added.

"I really admire your friendship." He said.

"Well thank you." She responded.

"Uhm... I don't know if you are busy..." He stammered.

"I'm not busy." She did not hesitate to speak.

"So the thing is, I'm having training for football now." He said as he rubbed his hands on his head.

"Oh, you need to go?" She asked.

"No, well yes, but I want you to come watch me, that's if you are free though." He said.

"Originally, I'm supposed to be having a class, but that class can kiss me goodbye for now." Maddie said jokingly.

"Wow thank you so much." He said.

"Well let's go."

They both went to the football field. When they got there and Francis wanted to meet his teammates and friends he hugged Maddie first and said.

"Wish me luck."

Maddie felt so happy when he hugged her. Maddie looked around and saw Chris and his friends prepping themselves. Chris quickly glanced through Maddie and immediately took off his eyes. She looked towards her left and saw Dave and Kelly coming together. When Kelly looked around and saw Maddie, she immediately waved to her.

Maddie had a lot of questions on her mind, like, what is Kelly doing here? Why didn't she tell Amelia and her that she was going to the field today. But when she saw Dave once again, all her questions were answered.

Immediately Jessica walked in with her group of friends, after they got to the front of the field, she stood on front of them and shouted.

"Girls,if you know you are here for cheer leading make your way to the front now, I won't say it twice.

Kelly ran immediately to meet her alongside other girls who were there for cheerleading.

"Girls, I am Jessica, if you are just joining, hey, you are welcome. You being here means you passed a lot of my tests. And if you are one of us before, get into formation before I count to three." Jessica commanded.

Immediately, all the old cheerleaders got into formation. After they've gotten to formation, they started teaching the new cheerleaders what to do.

Few moments later, after the football training has started, Maddie was so focused on the game, some little moments makes her take a sneak peek at Chris, and she realizes how hot he looks in his uniform. She quickly cautions herself and focus on the game.

"Then three two to one, Go tigers, Go!!!.

"Arghh!!!" Jessica shouted, how many times am I going to fix your formations, if you know you can't do this and you cant continue with me, give up now before you stress me." Jessica complained.

"Um excuse me!!!" Kelly rose her hand.

"Yes what?!" Jessica asked out of frustration.

"I feel like in that part, Go tigers, go, instead of we rolling, we could jump in that place, cause we rolling is making us lose the formation." Kelly suggested.

Everyone was quiet because, it is a crime to challenge Jessica.

"Thank you miss Chloe."

"It's Kelly."

"Whatever, I'm going to pardon you because this is your first time here. But let this stick to your brain, your opinions are not needed, and don't you ever, ever, complain about my formation."

"But..."

"Sh... That would be all." Jessica cuts in.

Amelia was getting nervous as it would soon be her turn to tryout for swimming.

"Clarks Amelia!!" One if the supervisors called.

"Here!" Amelia raised her hands.

"Ok , you are going next." The supervisor said.

Amelia was already in her swimming trunk, she went to the stand as she jogged round a spot preparing for her swim.

"Go!!!." The supervisor shouted.

Amelia jumped into the pool and swam as fast as she could. She made it to the end of the pool and swam like a shark in a pond.

The judges and supervisors looked at the time on their watch and were shocked and surprised. Amelia has the best record there for the day.

After she was done she waited to see if she made the cut to be one of the swimmers.

After an hour of serious meeting and consideration between the judges and the supervisors. They came to announce the new people that made the school team of swimmers.

They called Amelia's name and her heart skipped a beat.

The judges and supervisors shook her hand, and some were even telling her that they would love to see more.

Amelia can't wait to tell her best friends about this good news.

People were already exiting the pool room, the judges and supervisors already left, Amelia wants to swim a little bit before leaving, after almost everybody left, she went to the pool and swam slowly.

She took her time inside the water as she enjoyed the moment and was happy that she is now one of the school swimmers.

Amelia has always loved swimming, she performs wonders at the little pool this is in her house, she has always wanted to join the school swimming team but couldn't find the right time. But this time she did.

"I don't know why people think you are a good swimmer." A guy said behind Amelia.

Amelia turned back and saw the guy, Kim, her long time rival. They've been enemies for quite a while.

"Or you are just blind to see good things." Amelia said.

"I'm laughing, I can't with you." He said and laughed.

"Good things, you?" He asked.

"Just get away loser." Amelia said.

Kim left and continued laughing, while Amelia went to the pool to relax.

As she came at of the pool, she saw a guy standing in front of the pool standing while looking at her.

"WTF!!" She shouted.

She was shocked because she taught she was the only one left in the pool room, not knowing that there is someone there.

"Hey don't be scared." The guy said.

He stretched his hands towards her trying to pull her out of the water. She also stretched her hand towards him and he pulled her out of the pool.

"I'm Jaden." He introduced himself

"Amelia" she responded.

"Nice swimming moves today "

"Thanks."

When Amelia looked at Jaden, she saw that he was a hot afro guy.

"I'm the leading swimmer for the past three years."

He bragged.

"Oh wait, you mean you are the Jaden...like the main Jaden." She asked

"Yes." He answered.

Her phone rang and she checked who the caller was and she saw that it was Maddie.

She ignored the call and put it back in her pants.

"I can't believe I am standing here with you like this, it's such a honor." Amelia continued to say, she then brought her hand to shake him.

He shook her hands. Amelia was so excited because Jaden is a very popular swimmer in the country, the best in the school, he has won many competitions like the states and even the nationals.

He is renowned for his excellent skills in swimming, Amelia still can't believe that this is Jaden because as she heard Jaden is always busy, but the fact that he is here with her now is making her feel so happy.

Her phone rang again.

"Arghh" she complained.

"You should pick that call, it seems important." He said.

"Yeah, I will. It's my best friend, she probably wants to call me on one irrelevant matter." She said as she took her phone and dialled Maddie's number.

"Hello!!! Why didn't you pick my calls?!!!." Maddie shouted from the phone.

"Stop shouting at me girl." Amelia said.

"Let's meet now." Maddie asked.

"Where are you?" Amelia asked.

" I'm at the school library now." Maddie responded.

"Okay, I'm coming." Amelia said.

"I'm sorry but I have to go." Amelia said sadly.

"Ohh." He said, Amelia could feel the sadness beneath his voice.

"Can I have your number so we can chat up later." She asked.

"Yeah sure." He replied.

She gave him her phone and he inputted his number.

"Bye." He waved to her.

"Bye." Amelia waved back.
