“Grazie." I say then remember she is American. "Thanks. But am I that predictable?"
"You come in everyday and order the same thing. The daily platter and a cola. Then you start working on paperwork. I have to go get another table their food. I will return with yours when it’s ready." I watch her walk away and then open my briefcase up. I pull out business papers and start going over them.
"Dude I wonder if she is single." One of the guys at the table next to me says.
"I doubt it she is to hot to be single. But you can ask."
"Or not. She is off limits." I say to them. As she starts walking towards their table with their food. "Who had the hamburger and onion rings?" I watch one of them raise their hand. "What about the fish and chips. That means this last one is yours. Can I get you guys anything else?"
"Your number." I hear one of them say.
"Sorry but no." She says then walks away. "Here you are." She says as she sits my plate down. "Anything else for you?"
"A refill on my drink please."
"Be right back with it." She says and walks up to the counter. I see her talking to one of the other girls. Then she walks back to me and sits a cup down. "Here you are. Enjoy." She says rushing off to a table that a family just sat at.
My phone rings, I pull it out and see who it is. "Sì?"
"We found the mole. Are you at the diner?"
"Sì."
"I am pulling up out front now. I will be in to talk with you in a minute." He says then hangs up. "Non ti piacerà chi è." He says as he sits down.
"Perchè no?"
"È tua sorella."
"Can I get your friend some food?" I hear her ask.
"The same as me." I reply.
"Coming right up."
"Ha detto perché."
"Le ha promesso sicurezza e amore"
"Lei conosce il prezzo." I tell him, he nods his head.
"Come tutti noi." He says as she comes over with his food and drink.
"Enjoy gentlemen."
"I was serious when I asked for your number." The boy says again as she walks past him.
"Ask him for my number." She tells him pointing at me. "You will have as much luck getting it from him as me." She says to him. I look at him and smirk. They finish eating and leave. We sit there and eat. She comes back over with two more cups of cola.
"You know I need your number to give it to people." I say to her.
"Which is why he would have as much luck getting it from you as me." She tells me. Then walks over and cleans their table up.
"Capo we need to go deal with that issue." I nod and get up. We are about to leave when I am tapped on my back. I turn around and she is standing there.
"Sorry if I led you to believe you would get my number. But until I have known someone for awhile they get no private information."
"That’s okay Trinity." I say using her real name. Then turn and leave.
