"Get into the car, Diana," Blake muttered as he slid open the driver’s door.
I sighed as I looked at Sophie, who simply shrugged in response. It was evident that he had been acting so strange since I told him that I was from Alpha Paul’s pack and that he was my father, but I just didn’t understand what the issue was. Looking back at Blake, I noticed that he had settled right into his car. The man was so weird.
The horn blasted suddenly, jolting me upright, and I quickly walked as fast as I could to the car. Sophie opened the back door while I settled into the passenger’s seat. Damn! That was a mistake on my part. I spared Blake a glance, and he looked right ahead.
"Wait, Blake," I said tentatively.
He spared me a glance. "What is it? I shrugged as I looked at Sophie with a soft smile playing on my lips. "I need to stay behind with my homegirl. So, don’t drive off yet," I mumbled as I turned around to open the car door, only for Blake to move into my space at once.
I blinked as his scent hit me. I was so surprised that I found myself at his brown hair, wishing I could put my hand through it. The thought jolted me a bit, and I blinked as I tried hard not to think about it. But his hair was so distracting that it was close to impossible not to feel those emotions.
He turned to me, and his lips were literally on mine. My eyes slowly took them in, and I realised that they were plumper than a normal werewolf, and I could imagine that they were so succulent too. I just wanted to bite it.
'Get a hold of yourself,' I mentally slapped myself.
I placed my hand on the seatbelt as I tried to pull myself up. "What are all these, Blake? Why are you holding the door? I have to get out," I pointed out.
He smirked as he looked at me. "I know that, but you won’t be stepping out of this car, Diane," he pointed out.
I gave him a look. "Why not?’
"Because I don’t think I’m your servant..."
"What are you talking about?" I asked, slightly confused.
He grunted as he pressed a button on the door, locking me right in, before sitting back up. I released the breath that I didn’t even know that I was holding and hoped with all I had that he wouldn’t see how flushed my cheeks were.
"I believe that alcohol didn’t make you slow," he mumbled.
He looked back at Sophie, who was glaring at him. I knew that if not for the fact that he was my mate, she would have hit him on the head with her shoe or something. That comforted me a bit.
He scoffed as he pulled the car into gear, zooming out of the pack’s park. "Fine! I meant that you can’t just make me drive you around like you employed me or something. I can’t stand that," he mumbled.
I rolled my eyes as I looked out of the window. "I swear you make things up in your head," I whispered, knowing he heard me.
Blake didn’t respond to that or try to have conversations with me as he drove us through the pack house. I sighed as I leaned my head back, not the chair, massaging my forehead to kick back against the headache that threatened to kill me. I was never taking a drink again.

"I have to drop you here," Blake mumbled.
I turned to look at him, but he had his eyes fixed on the path. He had not bothered to talk to me throughout the journey, and it made me wonder what the matter was. Did he have some sort of history with my father, Alpha Paul? Should I ask him?
The door suddenly opened, and I blinked. "You should go. Your family must be worried about you," he said simply.
I nodded and slowly looked away from him as I stepped down from his car. He leaned over, slamming the car door, and before I could blink, he was out of the pack house. Sophie had dropped down moments ago, claiming that it wouldn’t help our case if we were seen together. I sighed as I slowly walked to the gates, only for them to pull open on their own.
"Miss Diana," Harry, the guard, greeted as he bowed lightly.
I sighed. "How do you do, Ben?" I managed.
He smiled a bit. "I’m well, but you need to come with me right now. You’ve been summoned to the ancestral hall," he explained.
I inwardly groaned as I made my way to the packing house. The stunning silver designs didn’t do anything to make me feel better. I sighed as we moved through some of the crooked pathways before getting into a hall that was designed with every Alpha from the pack. It was a bit foreboding, but I tried hard not to think about that.
Finally, the guards at the wooden door pulled open the door, and I stepped inside. My father stood right in the middle of the hall, glaring right at me. There were a few guards there, but other than that, everything was so empty. I shifted anxiously at that.
"Where were you, Diana?" He asked once.
I swallowed the lump in my throat. "Where else would I be, father?"
His eyes squinted dangerously, causing a light shiver to move down the length of my spine. "When I ask a question, young lady, I expect a straight answer," he snapped.
Oh, goddess! Why did he sound so angry?
He pulled at his cream shirt as he looked at me for a response. I couldn’t help but look away from his preying eyes. "I was with Sophie. I told you this earlier. I wanted to spend the night over at her place with her so that we could have the best birthday party ever. There is no crime in doing that, right?"
"Don’t like me, girl."
I raised my gaze to him at once and slowly held my cloth. "What do you mean? I’m not lying. I was with Chloe. You can ask her when she comes around. Though she told you that I was with her this morning, right?"
Father took a step forward, and I felt my breath catch in my throat. "I spoke to Beta Harriet to find out if you were really home with Chloe, but he told me he didn’t see either of you. Why the f**k are you lying to me, Diana?"
"You were spying on me?" I accused.
Father scoffed as he pulled at his short, dark hair. "Don’t test my patience! Where did you spend the night? How can my own daughter choose to spend the night outside? Is that the value that I taught you?"
I huffed as I looked around the immaculately stunning room. I felt like I was going to explode from the way everything was going at that moment. It was just so f*****g annoying.
"Are you deaf?"
I looked back at my father in rage. "I’m not deaf. I was with Sophia, and that isn’t a lie, and we decided to spend a night with a friend."
"Who is he?"
"Dad!"
He shook his head at me. "I need to know who that person is to verify with their parents. So, out with it now!"
I took a shaky step forward, feeling like every part of my body was going to explode in rage. It was the most annoying thing in the world right then. "You don’t need to know who I was with, father. It’s my personal life, so please stay out of it. I need some f*****g respect from you. I’m 21 years old, and you can’t just dictate to me like this!"
"I can. I’m your father," he snapped.
Tears blurred my vision. "Well, I don’t care. I’m not going to tell you where I was, so do whatever you want with that information. I’m going out of here right now, and I don’t hope to ever see you again for a long time!" I cried as I turned my back around, running out of the door.
I could hear my father saying he wanted to protect me, but I hated it. Why the hell couldn’t he let me breathe for a minute? I had not been doing anything bad, yet he made it seem like I was. How could a father’s love be so stiff?
I ran wildly through the halls till I finally got to my room, went up the stairs, and flung the door open. The princess-styled room glared back at me. It was home, but my heart hurt as I fell to the ground in pain. I hated all of these, and just this once, I felt that my father would give me the wings to fly on my 21st birthday, but it was still the same song.
'Zayn, why does this happen to me every time?' I asked my wolf through my mind-link as tears slid down my cheeks.
