Mate!

1887 Words
Oliver's pov I haven't had time to go see her again. Me and Robin are so excited for starting school and have all our limbs crossed in hope this new layout of students will magically be one of our mates. I know it sounds very childish but we can't help it. I am also looking forward to learning and getting to know that Bea girl more. She is quite intriguing. Cole is excited about seeing her and hopefully talking and meeting her. That dumb dog. Though his excitement does raise hope in me that maybe... So far nothing new has come from the break in of Mr Hastings office. Only thing is my men have found out that he was in a lot of debt and owed big sums of money to some sketchy people. Running my shaky icy fingers through my bed hair. I make my way to my en-suite going through my walk-in wardrobe to reach the bathroom. Walking back through, checking my options on what to wear. "You need to pick something nice, as a mate might be there." Cole said while pacing in my head. Once decided with a lot of my clothes being denied good enough by my wolf. I make my way to my car. Just as Robin runs past me jumping and clapping my back as he shouted 'shotgun!' 'Rodin, you know you don't need to say shotgun as it's only going to be me and you in the car. And you are definitely not driving my car!' 'What! Why?' I gave him a knowing look. 'Ugh it only happened once !' 'Twice. It happened twice.' I sat under my breath as I turn the keys making the vehicle roar to life. Once at school we were flogged by a mass sea of girls, wearing clothes that I don't think fit the school dress code. With way too many, for my liking, bitting their lip at me and pouting while fluttering their eyelashes. "Ah! This is going to be an eventful day." Robin mind linked me. "Yeah no kidding." Pushing passed them as best as we could. Me and Robin made it finally to our first class, Maths. Sadly none of us have found or sensed our mate. Us being Robin, Peter , Lawrence and me. And I haven't had the pleasure of bumming into Bea yet. Lunch In the line for food me and Peter stand together talking about if we have had any luck finding out mate. Just as I shouted at Peter to 'stop it!' The girl next to him in the line, who is now at the front. Dropped her tray. Sugar! Did I scare her by shouting? Rushing to help her collect her things with her profusely saying ' sorry. I am so sorry!' Crouching down with Peter by my side, I start to collect the sharp shards of the smashed plate. Making eye contact with the girl I soon realise it isn't just any girl, it's Bea. Feeling Cole wagged his tail in my head. I smile, noticing her cute face turning a blush pink. Once all the mess was cleaned up she rushed out of the cafeteria with her head down. After paying for my food and putting my tray down on the table with Rodin , Peter and Lawrence. My head and eyes not wanting to leave the door of which she walked out of. My heart is echoing me on to follow her. With Cole saying " go check on Bea!" I pick up my sandwich, cookie and drink before walking out the hall in her footsteps. Not saying a word to the boys. From walking all over the school I finally find her, sitting with her back against the walls of lockers. My feet just started to walk over to her, unconsciously. I outstretched my hand holding my cookie to her. God I must look like a creep. I feel like one. Looking up at me through her eyelashes. Cole did a little giddy dance as she took the cookie off me letting our fingers brush against each other. Sitting down next to her I unwrap my sandwich, being a gravy and pulled pork sandwich. The smell of freshly baked bread hit my nose making Cole wag his tail. I look over to her. Seeing that she has moved closer to me and has a gormless face, eyes wide and mouth hanging open looking. No staring. At my sandwich. A small smile played on my lips as I took a slice and handed it to her encouraging her to take it. Satisfied once she took it off me I turned to look down the corridor, taking a bite of my delicious sandwich. I felt a light weight on my right knee. Looking at it I found half of the chocolate chip cookie I gave her. Turning to look at her. Her face held a bright big smile, scrunching her magical eyes. A smile you can't help smiling back at no matter what you feel like. After school 'Where did you go off to?' Robin said as he climbed into the passenger seat of my car in the school parking lot. 'What are you talking about!' 'You vanished at lunch. Please tell me you have found out this special ability where you can turn invisible or can teleport!' He said excitedly. 'No, I went to go see Bea.' I said through laughter. 'Ooh Bea! So is she you know ?' He prompted elbowing me as I started the car. 'Umm no. Though Cole does like her and gets excited by her as well as her amazing scent.' 'Well how old is she? As you remember we can only sense our mates when they are eighteen as well.' Robin stated 'Yeah I know, I'll ask her tomorrow.' The rest of the car ride home was in comfortable silence. After another sleepless night. I go and get a wash and change for my second day of school. Me and Robin stood at our lockers discussing our plans. When the most intoxicating aroma filled the world around me. "Mate!" Cole barked into my head. My vision narrowed as I scanned the corridor. Landing on the opposite wall to us. Her back to me as she fiddled inside her locker. A growl escaped my lips uncontrollably, wanting her to look at me. Which worked. She turned in confusion. Her eyes landed on mine. It's Bea , she's my mate. She is 'mine!' my chest growing frantically moving in motion. Her eyes clouded over as her face showed a bit of happiness. Taking her eyes off me she started to look around the corridor. Making another uncontrollable growl rip through my throat. "Mate! Get mate! Mark mate! Mate mate !" Cole growled and barked at me in my head. Her eyes landed on a brunette girl walking passed and her face went sour. "Did she upset you, mate?! We should teach her a lesson for hurting mate!" Cole again yelled. I must have gone to step towards Bea as I was soon held back by Robin. 'Calm down. She seems human, you don't want to scare her.' I slowly calm down just as she walks away to where I presume is her first class. The pack link was going crazy. Asking if I've actually found my mate and the packs future Luna and who she is. Instead of making our way to class Robin advised me that we should both go for a run to let off some steam. Huffing he guides me outside towards the woods. Somewhere down the line a pack member must have noticed and seen what happened this morning in the corridor as they know that their future Luna is Bea. When we got back to school it was time for the last lesson being P.E. Once changed into the gym uniform. The boys and girls head out to the field. The girls on the left side of the field set up teams for playing soccer. I couldn't keep my eyes off Bea as she ran around with Carly, both wearing a green bib. A smile made its way on my face. It's good that he has friends and even better that her friends are part of my pack. No our pack now. As the baseball teams switch sides my team changes from batters to fielders. I take a look I over to Bea to find the ball mid air heading for her face. Rushing over to her, I rescheduled her as she landed on the grass. Kneeling down next to her I gently hold her face trying to keep her awake. More people came over, some being the girl who kicked the ball, Carly, Lara and Belle as well as the girls coach / gym teacher. Not long and her head went limp and her eyes rolled to the back of her head, closing her eyes. Linking the pack doctor to get to school right now. I pick her up bridal style making sure to walk fast but be careful not wanting to hurt her anymore than she is already. Placing her on the bed in the school nurse's office I watch and stand closely as he examines her. 'She will be alright just a bump to the head. There most likely will be a bruise on her head and a black eye on her right eye. If she gets worse or feels sick, throws up or faints please immediately let me know and take her to me. Okay?' I nod, keeping my eyes on her slow rising chest. She's alive, she will be okay. The doctor left and I took a seat on the bed. Hovering my hand over hers. Until her hand twitched and enclosed our hands together. A gasp exacting my lips. Eyes fluttering open she looks right at me, her eyes going wide. In that moment I saw the instant bruise that formed on her forehead and her black right eye slowly faded until it was completely dispersed. 'Bea?' I said in disbelief. 'No...' she said breathlessly getting up out of bed. I immediately jump off the end to help her. She back anyway for me one of her hands stretched out in front of her making unwanted distance between us. Her other hand clutching her head. 'No...no...' she repeated. I backed away. 'Bea are you okay, I think you should go back to bed I can get the doctor back.' Before I could finish she rushed out the door running down the corridor. I had to fight Cole and his urge to run after her. "No Cole, she needs space okay?" All I got back was a grunt. I walk back getting met by Robin halfway. 'How is she ?' 'Umm well she is okay, kind of ran out the nurses office once she woke up.' 'Oh!' 'How are you?' 'Amazing I've got my mate, but at the same time I feel like something is wrong and I don't know how to help. Which is quite annoying and infuriating.' Robin didn't say anything back, he just rubbed my back as we left. He took my car keys off me and drove us home. What is the matte with Bea? Is she okay? What is she hiding?
