King Arkda spent the week in his palace with his wife and he was more excited when he heard the news about the recent developments in the kingdom. The outcome of the last tour around the kingdom and how productivity had increased and the prices had reduced.
King Arkda stood up as he read the report and held Queen and they danced like they were in a ball together.
"What are we celebrating?" Queen Liya asked.
"The tour was a success, our kingdom is doing better now even with the season" King Arkda responded as they both danced together.
"Do you have any plans for today?" Queen Liya asked.
"Yeah, the generals want to meet up, so we can discuss strategies if we are to go to war," King Arkda said.
"I have a surprise for you when you get back," Queen Liya said as she held his shoulders and they kissed.
"I'm home for now," King Arkda said as he caressed and kissed her baby bump.
Queen Liya left the room and King Arkda as well, he went to his father's old library. He looked at old paintings of his parents together. He remembers when he was a kid and how he felt his father didn't love him "I hope he's happy now with his mother" he thought.
King Arkda hadn't gone to the library since his father died. He remembered his father being so busy in the library he never had time for him. He spent most of his childhood in the royal stables and with the general and this influenced his love for battles and strategies.
King Arkda prepared, had his breakfast, and headed to the stables to watch the horses. He spoke to the stable manager and he was pointed in the direction of the stallion he was riding to the general's assembly later. He gazed at its sight and reminisced about his childhood, horse riding was always fun to him. He remembered his first time falling off a stallion trying to prove to his father he could ride it.
King Arkda set off to military Headquarters to meet with the generals. He left with some personal guards. The road was noisy as they went through the marketplace before they got to the hill which had a farm on the side. They went down the hillside for about thirty minutes after which they saw the military headquarters.
The horn was sounded as the King approached the military headquarters. All the generals and the chief commander came out to welcome the King. King arkda went inside and they had a conversation about the different military zone. Tapelis had 4 generals, Kora'o, Lamit, Barnil, and Vernon, the chief commander was Raimon. They all gathered together to talk about the different zones and how they were preparing for war.
Tapelis had 4 different military zones, east, west, north, and south. Each zone trained different soldiers and the western zone was the headquarters. The southern zone trained Cavalry troops, the eastern zone trained infantry troops, the northern zone trained range troops, and the western zone trained special forces, troops with skills that make them participate in all training at the same time. Tapelis had over 40,000 troops as many warriors recently retired.
King Arkda was in the process of building and gearing up the military. This process was affected as they trained more just to prepare for an impromptu war. King Arkda was so brilliant in warfare and they were creating different types of weapons to help them on the battlefield.
"First how are the troop's health and their nutrition, I hope there are no issues with their nutrition," King Arkda asked.
"After your tour, the zones got more resources from the farmer and our reservoirs in each zone can last month's so we safe" the chief commander responded.
"Also the physician cleared everyone including the recruits, they are all healthy. If we go to war, we have a team of special forces that would protect and convey all the provisions to the troops at our base as they fight." General Kora'o added.
"That's amazing, what about all the zone I hope no delay in our preparations?" King Arkda asked.
"Yeah there's no delay in our preparations, everyone is ready and the recruits are doing well" the chief commander responded.
"Thanks, What's the status on the road beast?" Kings Arkda asked as they all sat together.
"There's has been a delay, but the blacksmiths are back putting the prototype together" chief commander Raimon responded.
"How many special forces do we have now?" King Arkda asked.
"We have over 9000 special forces and they are all skilled and masters of different weapons," general Kora'o responded.
"I have the perfect tactics for Dangari if they choose to wage war. Let's implement our defence routine while they launch their front attack with their archers. On the charge, as they get closer with their Calvary and infantry we'll let our archers shoot.
"Once we clear their pace and make them lose their balance, we'll set 2 road beasts to lose with some members from the special forces riding them. Once they hit they can come out and attack, the guards will take the road beast back and they will be covered by archers.
"Then we launch our aggressive front attack and everyone charge" King Arkda explained as they were all in awe of his attack strategy.
"We need to maximize the impact of our special forces so a late introduction to the field will give us a superior advantage" general Kora'o added.
"We'll do that, and some of them will lead the infantry troops as well" King Arkda stated.
"Lead with range troops create a distraction with siege and full-on combat with different troops then bring on special troops to do more damage later on," the chief commander said as he scratched on his beard. "Okay, let us make everything count but that wouldn't guarantee a victory, Dangari has a lot of troops."
"Yeah, I know the impact of each attack will switch place regularly and rapidly to confuse them each time" King Arkda added. "What is the status of the recruit?"
"The benefit routine helped a lot and more men and women joined the army after your tour, many fighters were excited and motivated by your confidence" general Vernon responded.
"What if Dangari has a new surprise, how can we be prepared for that?" general Lamit asked.
"I'm confident we'll win this, but any surprises we will fight back without fear" Kings Arkda responded.
"Well, Dangari was always known for their aggressive front line. Their infantry is built with the best gears and they attack subtly" the chief command stated.
"Our special forces will take care of their infantry and open up spaces so our troops can penetrate," King Arkda said. "I'll love to see all the troops training."
"Sure once we are done here, I'll take you to the Eastern zone you visited here last week," general Lamit said. "The infantry is putting in work and are prepared."
General Lamit was the head of the eastern military zone, general Kora'o was the head of the western military zone, general Vernon was the head of the southern military zone and general Barnil was the head of the northern military zone. The idea of the divisions into zones was King Arkda's, he trusted the 4 generals and made them head each zone to help train troops and create strategies with him. The 4 generals were his friends as a young prince he met them in the army and they all trained together he saw how dedicated they were and they saw each other as family.
"Anything else? before I head to the eastern zone" King Arkda asked.
"Yeah, I'll love to announce am getting married next 2 weeks" general Kora'o announced.
"Finally," King Arkda said, they were all so excited they tease and hugged Kora'o. "Lest I forget am organizing a celebration in the palace this week everyone is invited."
Smiles and joy filled the tent, as they all talked about their childhood reminiscing the good old days.
"Remember, when we all had to race in those horses to see the fastest?" General Kora'o said as he laughed and they all joined in on the laughter.
"Yeah, none of us made it to the finish line" King Arkda gushed and they laughed together.
"Fellas, I'm still certain we were set up that day, they all knew those horses were trouble, and yet they still let us ride it" General Vernon chuckled.
"Good old days, what about our first time participating in combat where we trained with each warrior, I feel they wanted us to quit our training routine was always so hard and long" General Lamit added.
"True but those long hours paid off so we'll now, look at us, we are so invincible on the battlefield and we are training new warriors smarter so they'll be better" General Barnil stated.
"Yeah, true and congratulations, Kora'o we'll all be there on your special day, now when are the rest of you going to get married?" King Arkda asked.
"We would don't scold us, we are taking our time" General Lamit cried as they laughed together. "It's noon let's head to the eastern zone."
"Yeah, I have reports to attend to and I guess you all do as well," General Kora'o said as he walked them out of the tent to the stables to get their horses.
"We'll split up at the Dougao river cross point, I'll head to the north, Vernon will head south and you both go east from there," General Barnil said.
They shook hands and headed in the direction of the Dougao river. The Dougao river was the major source of water in Tapelis, it had other outlets from it and since it was running slowly the stream was getting dry. The road to the river was narrow and since the river was shallow due to the season they could all cross with their horses.
As they crossed the river they said their goodbyes and split up. They all hurried to their respective zones.
King Arkda was ready to see the infantry and how they were doing. King Arkda watched with the chief commander as General Lamit and the troop gave a mind-blowing performance.
General Lamit had trained the infantry and made them adaptive calvary and range. Their performance had some of them shooting arrows on point as they backed up the men with swords and some could hop on horses and still fight like they were on the ground. King Arkda was impressed, he and the chief commander smiled after the performance.
General Lamit came to the tent they watched the remaining performance together.
"This is so impressive," King Arkda said.
"These are the best troops I have trained so far, all others are in the process and we are working hard to perfect our routine and strategy," General Lamit said.
"Whatever you need to aid your growth let me know, I love what I am seeing here," King Arkda said.
"We have all we need for now as more recruits join we'll let you know whatever we need" General Lamit added.
As the sun began to set king Arkda and the chief commander departed from the eastern zone and were on their way to the palace. The king had an event to prepare for, that week and he remembered his wife's surprise she had for him.
King Arkda got to the palace and was given a surprise welcome home as his ears were welcomed by his favourite singer in the kingdom. He loved her voice so much and his wife held his hand, put the other on her hips and they danced together. King Arkda smiled, he loved the surprise the day had prepared for him and he was excited to top it all with one from his queen.
"How was your meeting?" Queen Liya whispered into his ears while they danced in front of everyone in the palace.
"It was fantastic and everything I hope for" King Arkda responded. "What about your day?."
"My day was amazing, I gardened today, I planted a tree for our baby" Queen Liya responded.
"I love that, you know what?" King Arkda said as he signalled to stop the singing.
"This weekend Saturday, I am hosting a ceremony here in the palace to celebrate Tapelis and everyone is welcome please spread the word. There will be lots of food, water, and wine, all should come and dine with the King and Queen let us celebrate the future of Tapelis"
After the announcement, the King and the Queen had supper and prepared for the week ahead. They both watched the stars from the balcony of the room the sight was so beautiful as the moon drew out. They cuddled together and went to bed.
