Chapter 2: Uninvited Party Guest

1264 Words
Raven stood with other women, all dressed in maid outfits, dark hair, light eyes. There were a few other blondes and brunettes, but mostly long black hair. She had to put extensions in and blue contacts to fit the profile. “Now ladies, if you do well, a few of the gentlemen might just invite you to the VIP room. It’s a great honor to be selected,” droned the event manager. Scott was able to get her in by switching out another girl. Instead of Raven tonight, she would be Victoria. He had told her to keep her nose down and just search for information tonight. To also keep her anger in check if she comes across Leo. Raven had promised she wouldn’t do anything at the party, maybe afterwards… She wanted to get into the VIP room, she was sure she’d get information there. “Hey, new girl.” Raven turned a blonde girl was speaking to her. Raven had been looking up at the room with a bouncer in front of the door. “You don’t want to go there. Keep your head down.” “Why not? I heard that’s where the big bucks are,” remarked Raven, grabbing a tray of sparkling wine. “You can defiantly make a buck there, but the things they make you do,” the girl shuddered, and Raven followed her. “Thanks for the warning, but I’m really tight on cash right now, and I really need it,” pleaded Raven. “Please, tell me who I should butter up to.” “Girl, I’m warning y…” “Please,” begged Raven. “Fine,” She pointed to a few of the men around the room, then she pointed to Leo. “Thanks, I appreciate.” Raven made her way through the throngs of guests, offering glasses, batting eyelashes at the ones the girl pointed out. She worked the room, and for now she kept her distance from Leo. She didn’t want to blow her cover. Just as she was offering the last of her drinks, to some guests. A man pulled a glass from the left while the weight of the glass on the right tipped the tray, it plummeted to the ground. Surprisingly the glass didn’t break, as it landed on a table nearby, rolling down the tablecloth to the floor. “Ahhh! How dare you!” Raven turned to see that some of the liquid had got on someone’s heels. Those heels belonged to a beautiful woman in a tight sequence black dress. Her eyes spoke of shock and hatred as if anyone dare have the audacity to even look at her. “I’m so sorry ma,” Raven crouched down and started cleaning up the mess instantly, she went to wipe off the woman’s heel, which only had a few drops. As Raven was about to stand, there came a cooling sensation all over her body. The lady had poor her drink all over Raven. ‘f**k,’ thought Raven, barely holding back from clobbering her. The lady laughed, as did the others around her. “Now clean it,” demanded the woman. Raven knelt back down to clean up the spill. “Claire!” A man kneeled down next to Raven, he took some napkins to help, “I’m so sorry about her.” “Oliver, what are you doing? She’s the worker here, not us.” Raven looked up into light green eyes, her breath catching. Oliver stood up abruptly and glared at Claire, “That’s the problem Claire, they are workers, they’re people too, and should be treated with respect.” Oliver was annoyed at how Claire could treat others so cruelly. Why his father wanted her to be his mate? He had no idea. Granted, he wanted nothing to do with the pack, and for now would appease his father before he rejected everything. At one point, Claire and him got along well, that was usually one to one though. In public she was a tyrant. Oliver turned back around to finishing helping, but it seems the girl had finished, and managed to slip through the crowd. Oliver followed after her. “Where are you going Oliver?” Claire called after him. Oliver ignored her, his mine was on the girl. There was something about her when their eyes met, and he instantly had to defend her. He saw her slip into the back room, and the sign read employees only. Oliver didn’t pay any attention and went in. It was a locker room. He heard a locker slam shout followed by a curse, “Damn it!” He rounded the corner to see the girl with her top off. Oliver instantly turned around, “Sorry.” He desperately wanted to look back, he felt a pull, a need to gaze upon her. Raven looked at him, she still had her bra on. ‘So, this was Oliver Flemming,’ mused Raven. ‘I wonder if he can get me into the VIP room?’ Despite her trauma, over the years, she had also learned how to use her body, to get what she wanted, an easy, messy, kill. Raven chuckled, “Please, half the men at this party wouldn’t hesitate to stare at a woman in a bra, or less.” “Are you inviting me to look at you?” quipped Oliver. “You can do what you want,” remarked Raven, turning back to the locker to look for another shirt. “Shit.” Oliver peeked over his shoulder, but looked back, “Is there anything I can do to help?” “I could use a shirt, so I’m able to finish my shift,” responded Raven, finally finding another shirt in the locker, but it was smaller than her last one. She slipped it on, the tightness of the shirt pushed her breasts to nearly spilling out, and there was a small midriff from her skirt. Raven looked up and caught her reflection in the mirror at the end of the room. Maybe she should have started off with this. It shouldn’t be too hard now to get an invite into the VIP room. She also noticed Oliver was still facing away from her. Raven scoffed, “What a gentleman you are. I have a shirt on now, you can look.” Oliver spun around, and instantly he felt a possessiveness wash over him, his wolf growling within. “You’re not going out like that.” “Excuse me.” “What are they paying you tonight? I’ll double it and you can go home.” Oliver didn’t want anyone else to look at her, especially like this, especially here. His c**k was getting hard just looking at her. ‘f**k, what is this?’ thought Oliver, he’s never been turned on like this before. Raven smiled, “Thanks, but no thanks. I don’t take no charity.” Raven started to walk by him. He grabbed her arm and shoved her against the lockers, his face was mere inches from hers. Normally, Raven would have kicked him by now, yet instead, all she could do was stare into his eyes, that shone with desire. Her breathing intensified. “How do I convince you to go home?” growled Oliver, Moon Goddess, he wanted to kiss her. Raven glanced down at his lip, licking her own in the process, her heart hammering in her chest. ‘Why do I want him to finish the distance so badly?’ wondered Raven. He leaned closer to her.
