“You shouldn’t be walking yet,” Belial said, and before I could protest, he picked me up like I was a bride and he was about to carry me over the threshold. “I can walk,” I snapped. “Put me down.” I didn’t want Belial’s brother to think I was some helpless woman who needed to be carted around like an invalid, but Belial just ignored me. Stubborn ass! “See? So possessive.” Damien chuckled as he reached into his pocket. He pulled out his own Faerie key and held it out, opening the swirling, colorful portal before us. Belial started toward the portal but then paused and turned back to Damien. “You know, you can come and visit me as well. I’m only a portal away.” “I would, but every time I return to Earth, my visit somehow turns into a wine-filled orgy.” Damien winked at me as he said it.
