Days had passed after the lion attack and until now, I hadn't received any updates on the investigation. I had asked Alaric a couple of times, and the only thing he had said was that the footage was already in his hands, and that I should keep it a secret for now.
I was confused as to why he was postponing the investigation. If the footage was already checked, then why not go through the investigation and punish whoever the culprit was?
"I am waiting for the right moment," he answered when I asked him about that. I could still remember how relaxed and confident he looked, as if he was very sure that the culprit would be caught. "You did a great job, Nysera."
