The Plan

1037 Words
Hey mama I love your song last night. Jordan figured he would try and text her again. Even though he had got himself really riled up earlier. He decided to chill. Because he really didn't even know this girl. His girl. His woman. But he had a plan. Who this? ? ? Jass responded. Thinking who legitimately was texting her out the blue. Talking about her music? Only two people last night. Logically Ace must have gotten a new number. Cuz the lil tender couldn't be texting her. She barely had any interaction with him last night. And Ace always tried to flirt with her. She knew he liked her but had made it clear it was never going to get that personal. Music was business at the end of the day. That's why she always paid him for her sessions. Her next friend Jimmy had told her to always be conscious of the fact that she was sexy, and niggas always try to get in where they think they fit in. Especially at the studio. Usually a more male environment. And in her experience men are more loyal and trustworthy as friends. That's when they showed you respect and love the best. Not an intimate love. But a bond of friendship. And that's all Jass wanted. Some masculine male energy without all the bullshit. Thinking about the She thought of Jimmy. She loved that dude. She wondered what he was up to out there in Atlanta. She knew making music mostly. Music is the thing that had really bonded her and her male best friend. I guess that and the endless partying they did back in the day. They had gotten through it together. And actually grew into responsible adults. Responsible enough I guess. She laughed to herself. Really she was probably too responsible and cautious these days. Quite frankly boring, if you asked her. Sure liked being an introvert mostly. Because it gave her time to think and plan. But now she was just bored. I need some excitement she thought to herself. Damn how many niggas you sang to last night? Jordan texted. What up Ace? You got a new number? Hell naw this Jordan. What! Jass thought to herself. Why he texting me? How he get my number? Her phone buzzed with another text. Wow a shirtless Jordan! My damn! Jasmine thought. Zooming in to catch the details of the picture. His body was definitely inked up. Oh ok. What's up. How did you get my number? Stupid question but she still was going to ask. Oh yes baby texted back. Is all he could think of though. Now time to execute the plan. Ace gave it to me mama. That's cool with you? Yea that's cool. What's up? I want you to sing a song for me love. What's up with the pet names Jass thought. My name is Jasmine you know ?. Thinking he must have forgotten. I know your name girl lol Oh I like that s**t Jordan thought. Feisty. Oh this might be interesting. Don't worry baby it's just how I talk. He sorta lied. It wasn't how he usually talked to women. But he would always call her baby. Love. Mama. Mine. Wife. All that. Yea, Jass thought. Fuckboy. To her that's how they usually talked. Calling everybody by some endearing name. With no real meaning behind it. But she didn't mind working with them. She waited for him to get down to business. He waited for her to respond. When she didn't text back he saw he must had to take the lead. Of course. This was his plan. When can you meet me at the studio? I have a song or two I know you would be perfect for. Tonight is cool since no work tomorrow. Good she got a job. Even though he was gonna spoil her and make her quit. He respected the fact that she worked for hers. I wonder what she do. Probably work in an office or something. Sounds good. How about 7? Sounds good. See you then. She replied. Perfect. Where you work? He had to ask. Knowing he would leave the conversation with a little more knowledge about her. His phone buzzed shortly after. He got excited thinking what type of photo she could be sending. A picture of a classroom popped up. I work here. And 3rd period is about to start. I'll be there at 7. Have a good day. Jass responded politely. Her nature. Jordan had to admit he was surprised. Pleased but also a lil nervous. He was a high school dropout. Even though he had made a lot of money. It was still something he wasn't proud of. What if she looks down on me because of it? He couldn't help but think. Later that day. When she arrived from work. She plopped down on the couch tired after a long week. She laid there reflecting. Highs and lows. Plusses and minuses. She took her job seriously. Always thriving to be better. She thought about life next. Boring. Going good. Everything in order for now. But boring. She sighed as she rolled off the couch. What should I wear she thought. She liked to keep it casual mostly. She never really went anywhere anyways. But it was Friday. Maybe after the studio she would take herself out to drink. Yea I'm gonna get the hell out this house. Relax. Listen to music. People watch. Might even smoke a lil weed. She giggled. Knowing she already had the blunt rolled up. I can make this a good night. Maybe meet a cutie. Just to pass the time with. Someone to keep her entertained. Her phone lit up with a text. Him. Hey mama. You think you can pick me up? My cousin got my car. Aww he probably ain't got no car. Jass was empathetic rather than judgmental. I know how that is. No big deal. She was a woman of experience and knew everything doesn't happen over night. Everybody isn't gonna have everything. Not all the time at least. I wonder if he got a job. She thought though. How old is he actually?
