TREVOR'S POV
Assistant Ray?
"He betrayed the whole family and escaped. Goddamnit!!" Mark cursed out.
"I want every detail of his movements. I will not spare him." I ordered, and Mark nodded his head. "Let's get to the company," I said and headed towards the car.
Mark was hesitant. "Are you sure, master?"
I stopped and turned to look at him. "It won't be bad to see the bastard that did that behind our backs."
Leaving Ellen to be in my house, Mark drove me to Billions Empire, and when we got parked in the garage and stepped out, some guards appeared and blocked my view. I took off my glasses and looked at them. "You fools! Get out of my way!" I growled.
They still stood acting stubborn. Pained, I rushed up to one. "STOP!!!" I heard someone say from behind.
I paused and turned to see who that was and saw a man in his late thirties, matching towards us with a smirk on his face, looking victorious.
I froze.
Lukman?
This was Duke Billions' business partner.
"How dare you? I will kill you!" I charged at him, but Mark hurriedly stopped me.
Let's not act rashly. He is dangerous," he whispered in my ear.
"And so f*****g what?" I replied and walked towards Lukman. "Aren't you ashamed of yourself? How dare you purchase my father's shares illegally?"
"Haha! Trevor Billions! You know, I have been wondering what it would be like cutting your ego into shreds, and after looking left and right, I found out that I have lots of options, but this one will actually be a good start. And for your information, I paid for the goddamn share with my f*****g money. This should be the last time you step your ugly feet in my company. Also, keep your phone close and pay attention to the media because sooner, I will rebrand this company to my f*****g taste and right in your face." he said to me. "throw him out!" he then ordered.
"Let's leave Trevor!" Mark suggested holding me.
"You haven't won, Lukman! I will make you pay for this." I said and got into the car just as Mark wanted, and then Mark drove out.
I kept punching my left palm with my right fist as the urge to hurt Lukman was flowing all over my veins. Having Duke Billions as an uncle and family was a big disadvantage to me. These people don't care. "Take me to my father's head lawyer," I said through gritted teeth, and Mark started the car and headed to the family lawyer's office.
The moment we got to Zone Legal Attorneys, I got out of the car and stormed in. The people around tried to stop me, but the moment they saw my face, they moved back in fear. I got to Barrister Cass's office, kicked his door open, and got in. "You bastard!" I cursed and walked to him, grabbed him by his collar, and lifted him from his office chair. "How dare you? After everything my father did for you. My father raised you, but you dared betray him on his deathbed."
He was shaking in fear, probably wondering why I was there. "Young Master, I would never do that. Please calm down so we can talk."
"Talk? You want to talk?" I then took my hands off his shirt and made him sit on his chair. After that, I walked to the chair opposite him and sat down facing him. It was as though I had never charged at him seconds ago. "So now explain. Explain how the Billions empire got sold to some Lukman. My father owned 71 percent shares. He worked very hard to protect that company, so please tell me how the right documents got into the wrong hands."
"What??? Oh s**t! That's very bad!" he reacted as though it was fresh in his hearing.
"Look, I hate pretense. All I want is for you to come clean with me. Don't piss me off." I said to him.
"A week ago, your father came asking for all his important documents, which I gave to him in the presence of Assistant Ray. I have no idea how, but if your father didn't, then Assistant Ray should be held accountable. I have proof of what I just said, and I can show it to you now because it happened right here in my office," he explained.
I then stood up and turned to leave, and saw Mark arrive. I walked past him and then went to the car.
Mark followed me and then got into the car, driving me out. "I need to go home," I told him, and he nodded his head and drove me to my house.
I had never felt so robbed in my whole life.
The moment I decided to let go of what happened and protect what my father left behind was the moment I realized that I had actually lost it all.
I was still refusing to believe that my father would trust Assistant Ray with these important documents. It was possible, but how did he manage to get these documents and dare to sell a company that had been on for decades? This was something I was finding hard to process in my mind.
Before we got home, Lukman had already released the news of purchasing Billions Empire to the media, and it was trending at number one.
The hell! I stared at my phone in disbelief. This was a shame to me. The public was yet to know who sold it to Lukman. Of course, he dared not put it out in public as it would make him lose good investors. The moment that car stopped in my garage, I got out and walked in to the aroma of some good food.
Ellen was just being a woman and had no idea what was really going on in my world. Should I tell her I had lost my company? I thought. I wasn't sure it would be good, but this was the woman I was willing to spend the best of my life with, so yes, I shouldn't mind.
"Baby, you are back. I miss you so much," she welcomed me, kissing me on my cheek.
"Ellen, I need to speak with you," I said to her, feeling very tired.
"Of course, you can. Always!" she said and cheekily took me to a chair and helped me sit.
"Ellen, I lost it all. I didn't just lose my father, his supposed right-hand man betrayed the whole family and sold Billions Empire right after stealing my father's important documents." I managed to tell her, and she became stunned with her eyes wide open.
"You mean that the news just now is true?" she asked as Mark walked in.
"Yes, miss! We lost it all, but it's not the end of the world. I trust Master, he will get back on his feet before we all know it." Mark replied, showing how much he believed in me.
I turned to him, looking impressed, and suddenly, he passed me his phone. I wondered what it was as I refused to take it. "Master, it's good news! Investor Shawn is inviting you over. He's heard the news and wants to work with you on a new investment deal."
