JABALI AND THE BIG FIVE

The adventure begins

Jabali found himself in a strange new place , the surrounding was dotted with twigs and bushes, the hot sun, warmed the surrounding. He looked around and noticed Rex sleeping next to him. He had his backpack on his back , he investigated his around in awe.

Jabali spotted a Large sign board some metres away. He shrugged Rex and tried to make him calm in the new environment. They walked to the board and Jabali could not believe his eyes. The sign board read " Welcome to The Tsavo National Park " Jabali was left in utter shock , he sat down next to the sign board.

" What happened Rex , what are we going to do ? " he said out loud.

" Woof ! This must have happened because you pressed the button in that weird book ," replied Rex.

Jabali looked at Rex in disbelief.

" Rex! , You can talk , how did this happen ? Did I just understand what you said ? " shouted Jabali.

" Yes , I....am.. able to talk in this strange new world ," replied Rex.

" This is unbelievable , What is my hobby ? My favourite food ? What is my name ? " questioned Jabali in excitement.

" Jabali , Caring for the environment is your hobby , pizza is your favourite food and I am your dog. Thank you for rescuing me ..." Rex replied.

Jabali jumped in excitement , this was only possible in movies that he had watched. He could not believe that it was his reality.

"I always knew that you were a special dog , I never regret rescuing you from the streets , " Jabali replied in excitement.

Jabali and Rex toured the new land. They found it hard to believe that they were in The Tsavo National Park . The same park where Jabali's grandparents had visited before their trip to Ethiopia. This is also the same park that Tim Tany had been to explore. He had talked about the big five and the beauty of the Tsavo National Park.

These species were endangered and this meant that Poachers were also near the park.

After walking for a long distance , Jabali decided to look for wild fruits as they were hungry. He was able to spot a water body from a distance. He encouraged Rex to hasten his steps and follow him.

They walked for almost half an hour to get to the water point. When they were a few metres away , he noticed an animal drinking water at the River.

After careful observation , Jabali concluded that it was an elephant. Fear run through his whole body and he wanted to run. He tried talking to Rex but no voice came out of his mouth. Due to fear , he slipped and fell to the ground. This caught the elephant's attention , in a twinkle of an eye , the elephant started walking to their direction.

Jabali was paralysed by fear , he could not even move , he tightly closed his eyes and waited for the worst to happen to him. The elephant got close to them and walked round Jabali and his dog.

" Are you the one we have been waiting for to save us from the Poachers? " said the elephant.

Jabali slowly opened his eyes in shock and amazement.

" I don't know what you are talking about , My name is Jabali and this is my dog Rex , " muttered

" We have been waiting for one , Tim Tany to save us , do you know him ?" asked the elephant.

" Yes I do, but I also love nature and I am ready to help, " added Jabali in excitement.

" Follow me then , " said the elephant.

Jabali identified the elephant as the African elephant that Tim Tany had mentioned as one of the big five. He followed in excitement , ready for the adventure. Jabali and Rex drank the river water and also refilled their water bottles. Contrary to their prior expectation , they found the fresh water quite refreshing.
