I woke to the gentle sound of waves and Stella's soft breathing beside me. Sunlight streamed through the windows, casting a golden glow across our naked bodies tangled in the sheets. Her hair fanned out on the pillow, and her face held that peaceful expression that made my heart skip.
Careful not to wake her, I pressed a light kiss to her forehead. She stirred but didn't wake, mumbling something unintelligible before burrowing deeper into the pillow. The bedside clock read 8:13 AM - too early after our late-night activities, but my body was already alert.
