The day after their return from the cattle drive Anna was sore from riding so they rode around the ranch in Steve"s pickup. He showed her all the boundary lines and corners of the ranch. Mostly marked with big rocks trees or corner posts of cement.
These were also marked with steel pins driven into the ground and marked so they could be easily found. Usually, rocks were piled around them so they could be located easily.
Then they drove back into a couple of different little valleys which were well-watered and had small bunches of horses scattered around. All mares and geldings, and all broke Steve told her. Even the broodmares can be ridden if need be.
