Midsummer Poolside

As Emily leaves, Lucas gets in and settles in his room, gets freshened up and soon smells the briskets waiting for him at the dining. He grabs a brisket and keeps on wondering about Emily, "Maybe this is the adventure I have been waiting for so long", "Maybe she's the one" and a lot of questions run past his mind, but before he can think further, he gets interrupted by his Granny, who inquires him about his college life and ongoing stuff

Mrs. Cooper - "So what about your girlfriend ?"

Lucas *annoyingly* - "What about it granny? You know I don't have one."

Mrs. Cooper - "Aww sweetie, grow up, its your sophomore year, if you don’t enjoy yourself now, then when will you ?"

Lucas - "Alright I get it, now can we change the topic ?"

Mrs. Cooper - "Well? Did you like Emily?"

Lucas *Confused* - Umm? What?

Mrs. Cooper - Oh, come on, even a blind person can see how you are blushing right now.

Lucas - “But Gran…”

Mrs. Cooper - “Don't Granny me, I have 77 years of experience and I know exactly what's going on in your mind, hahaha.”

At night after dinner while Mrs. Cooper went to sleep, Lucas couldn't sleep at all. He kept on moving around the house having random thoughts and listening to music when he suddenly saw Emily from the window. She looked gorgeous in the purple satin robe and with her perfectly messy bun hairstyle. Before he could even move back, Emily looked towards the window and their eyes met with each other. They smiled at each other, and Emily asked something but from that distance, Lucas couldn't hear a thing, so finally, Emily invited him over to her place. And in no time, Lucas rushed to Emily's place.

Emily - "Couldn't catch your sleep huh ?"

Lucas - "Nope, still feeling jet-lagged and Granny's briskets really filled me up"

Emily - "Haha I know, She's very passionate about two things, her briskets and the other one is you"

Lucas - "Really ???"

Emily - "Yes, she talks so well about you"

Lucas - "Well I happen to be her only grandchild, so maybe, the undivided love"

Emily - "Ya maybe, Haha"

Lucas - "So you couldn't catch sleep either ?"

Emily - "Naah I'm a late to bed person, I just love such starry nights by the poolside and sipping some wine in peace"

Lucas - "Wow, that seems pretty amazing"

Emily - "Hey, do you wanna join me ?"

Lucas - "Yeah why not? I would love to and, meanwhile, I would love to hear what my Granny has been telling you about me for so long."

Emily - "Alright then lemme get the glasses.

Emily goes inside to bring the glasses, while Lucas keeps on wondering what is really happening here, a pretty girl inviting over for a drink ? is it real?

Emily - "Thank you for the wait, here you go with the special aged wine straight from my favorites."

Lucas - "Thank you, so tell me about yourself"

Emily - "Well, as you know my name, I work at Downtown University as a researcher in the field of astronomy. I also do theatres, etc."

Lucas - "Researcher? You don’t look umm I mean, I thought you were still in your college years."

Emily - "Well I would like to take that as a compliment but I'm 25 years old, haha"

Lucas - "To be honest, you really don't seem to be 25 years old. The first time I saw you I thought you to be either of my age or younger than me.

Emily - "Well, I don’t know why but I have kind of got used to it by now, maybe I just don’t age."

Lucas - "That's a possibility, haha"

Emily - "So what's new in your college? Pressure, friends, GIRLFRIENDS ?"

Lucas - "Umm what ? You really think a guy like me can have a girlfriend ?"

Emily - "Aah well Mrs. Cooper said that her great grandchild could solve the toughest of the equations, but till today he couldn't solve his way to a girl's heart hahaha"

Lucas - "Damn granny, what else did she make me famous for ?"

Emily - "That you were blushing today when she asked me about you."

Lucas *Shyly* - "I'm sorry please don't get the wrong idea, it’s just you are so beautiful and she asked the question in such a manner that I smirked a little."

Emily - ". It's alright Champ, we can be good friends always, I have heard a lot about you and talking to you face to face feels awesome."

Lucas - "Thank You, Emily, although tell me about yourself, University researcher, pressure, friends, BOYFRIENDS ?"

Emily - "Hahaha, No I only love stars. I don’t have any time for boyfriends and relationships"

Lucas - "Well, a beautiful girl like you doesn't seem to be single though"

Emily - "Well, a physically fit boy like you doesn’t seem to be someone who drowns themselves in knee water swimming pools though"

Lucas *annoyingly* - "Damnnnnn Granny, she even told you about that incident ?????"

Emily *laughing* - "Yeah and that you cried so hard that you thought you were gonna die in that water."

Lucas *shyly* - "I was 17 back then"

Emily - *"Uh-huh I'm listening although I have seen children of age 6-7 cross reefs, hahaha"

Lucas - "Oh god, I feel embarrassed"

Emily - "Hey don't feel like that, I was just giving you a hard time, come on, cheer up"

Emily - "Hey Champ, what plans do you have for your summer break? Mrs. Cooper said you will be here for 2 weeks, is that right ?"

Lucas - "Yup, I spend 2 weeks here each year in my summer breaks and I never had any plans for these 14 days, just waking up to briskets and sleeping filled with briskets and lots of stories with granny."

Emily - "Umm I see, look, we have a pool in front of us. I have the next 2 weeks off from university and you don't know about swimming. Would you like to learn how to swim this summer break ?"

Lucas *Confused* - "Umm well yeah why not ?"

Emily - "Come on let’s jump into the water, it will be fun"

Lucas *Hesitantly* - "You mean start right no ?"

Emily - "Hahahaha I just wanted to check that look on your face, you look cute when you are stunned. I was just kidding. It’s too late to be in the water now, we can start tomorrow morning if you want to." Lucas - "Sure that sounds great."

Emily - "So tomorrow at 10 o'clock sharp ?"

Lucas - "You are sure right you wanna give me swimming classes? I mean to a complete newbie ?"

Emily - "Come on lazy guy, we will have fun and I will get a partner to spend my breaks as well and, obviously, we will be having the delicious briskets from Mrs. Cooper too"

Lucas *giggling* - "Alright then tomorrow sharp at 10 o'clock" Emily - "Deal done, so it's late tonight, let's meet tomorrow morning."

Lucas - "Yeah sure, Goodnight" Emily - "Goodnight Lucas."
