Elera’s POV Three days. That was all I had. Or maybe all we had—depending on how much of my life I could still call mine. The words didn’t leave my head even when I tried to focus on work after that meeting. They followed me back to my desk, into every document I opened, and even into the way people looked at me when they thought I wasn’t paying attention. Observers will arrive. The council is watching. And apparently, I was the reason.
