Have you ever wondered how two strangers meet and begin a new chapter of their lives without any expectations? Well my name is Samantha but most people call me Sammi. I am a Veteran from the Army who decided to move to Manhattan for a fresh new start after calling off my engagement. I have a very large Italian family who has planned almost every aspect of my life all the way down to me eventually marrying Alonzo. That is up until his infidelity during his deployment. Alonzo was my whole life, my everything, and he got away with a lot because he was so fine. I have to admit I have a weakness for men with blonde hair, blue eyes and that are built like the God Thor himself. This is not to say I do not turn heads myself at five foot nine with long black hair. People say I look like Monica Bellucci with bigger boobs. Anyway, I have had my fair share of bad relationships and I finally gave up and decided to pray to God for the man of my dreams to build my empire with. Yet as much as I prayed it just looked like my Mr. Right would never come. Literally, I have had several men ask me to marry them and the relationships not be stable so I finally decided to settle for Alonzo. I mean my family already liked him and he comes from a nice rich California family, but he is not very faithful and I am not happy which is where my story really begins.

I cannot wait until I get to my Aunt’s house. It's almost 8:30pm and these trains are taking forever. Looking at my phone I can see I only have 30% of battery left. I hope my phone makes it until I get there. Please do not let anyone sit next to me.

Baby what are you doing? I just got off work and can’t wait to see you for Christmas. I know I messed up, but I hope you can forgive me. I love you!

That man is so fine but I don’t know if I can forgive him this time. When is he going to learn he can not keep taking me for granted? I may not always be around for him to do this. Plus, he has not seen me in three months and I have gained five pounds. I am not skinny how he likes his girls anymore. I do not know if Christmas is the best time to see him, but I do miss him a bit.

Baby I know I have not had much time to talk, but at least text me back. We are only on a break and Christmas is important to our relationship especially with our anniversary coming up and everything we have been through with my deployment. I lLOVE YOU! PLEASE TALK TO ME!

I guess I should text him back even with him going to California and sleeping with Channel. Maybe he deserves that much from me.

Text to Alonzo:

Hey love I was not ignoring you I just saw the messages. I plan to see you for Christmas to discuss our future, but you do not have to text me everyday. The point of this break is for us to decide what is best for us. Figure out what you need to make you happy! I love you too good night.

Train intercom: Next Stop Melrose Station

I guess this is my stop! Time to get off this train and get on the next. I hope my train does not take forever. I am getting tired. I get off the train and walk around until I come to a set of three seats with a great view of when the next train is coming. Once I sat down I saw a truck speeding down the train tracks. Little did I know my life was about to change forever.

Sammi: Did that really just...WOW!

Hot Guy: Yes, that really did just happen. I think that guy is drunk.

Sammi: He has to be! Why else would someone speed down train tracks?

(AWKWARD SILENCE)

He looks good! Forget Thor this man looked like a Greek God sent straight from Olympus for this moment in time alone. I wonder if anyone else can see this! Sammi asks him for a cigarette and finds something to talk to him about. Technically you and Alonzo are not together. It is not cheating. Sammi says something!

Sammi: Hey can I have a cigarette?

Hot Guy: Sorry, I am trying to quit this electronic cigarette.

Sammi: Oh okay; nice tattoos!

Hot Guy: Thanks, I got them done while I was in the Army!

Sammi: Really! I was in the Army too; I was stationed in Fort Hood as a 68 Juliet or Medical Logistics Specialist. Where were you stationed?

Hot Guy: I was stationed in Fort Drum as a 92 Golf or Cook. My name is Leo and you are?

Sammi: My name is Samantha, but everyone calls me Sammi. How long have you been in Manhattan?

Leo: About a year I moved here as soon as I left the Army. How long have you been out?

Sammi: I have been out for about six months, but my family lives here so it was just logical.

Random Red Haired Lady Riding Train: How did you like being in the military? I just love a man in uniform.

Leo: It was an experience of a lifetime. It was just time for me to leave since my service time was over.

I put my earbuds back in and continued to listen to Nickelback as the train came to its next stop. I saw more people get on the train and some get off then I realized someone was tapping me, and removed my earbuds.

Leo: Can I sit with you; I would like to continue our conversation from earlier.

Sammi: Sure you can sit with me, but I thought you were talking to that lady!

Leo: I am not interested in talking to her because she is not my type. Are you seeing anyone?

Sammi: Technically I am seeing this guy I met in the Army. He just got home from deployment and we had a few infidelity issues. I think it may be time for me to walk away, but I am supposed to see him for Christmas.

Leo: Maybe it is time to walk away especially if he is cheating. You may just need a friend to talk to. Here is my number, maybe we can hang out sometime.

Sammi: Maybe we should here is my number also text me whenever;

Train intercom: Next Stop Warminster

Sammi: Well this is my stop I guess I will see you around

Leo: Yes, I guess you will
