Athena’s POV I stood there too long, staring at that man, trying to see if he had any mercy in him. Nope. His eyes were like stone. “I’m not letting you in,” he finally said. His words hit me hard. I wanted to argue—just one night, one healer, just a look at my son—but the way he stood told me it was no use. Guys like him don't change their minds just 'cause a mom is begging So, I turned around. Walking away was harder than walking toward them. My arms were killing me from holding Axel.
