Chapter 8 Monday arrives, and my two-day tour of book signings and lectures begins. I arrive an hour early at Milestone County’s only mom-and-pop bookshop, The Book Nook, and meet up with the shop’s owners and longstanding friends, Ben and Sara Palters. Staring at the bookshop’s picture window, I observe an elaborate display of paperbacks of my newest novel, Buried Secrets, piled on a display table in front of the store.
