Chapter 2

Kaia Celene “Lycan” A huge black wolf-like creature came out from the dark and I know by then that it’s a Lycan. Its dominating power and its size are different from a werewolf. Lycans are bigger than an average wolf and much much stronger and faster. All Lycans have the same black-colored fur; they look exactly like a wolf but like I said they’re bigger.  Lycans are said to have the gift of eternal life. Tsk. I don’t call eternal life a gift; it’s more like a curse. I kept myself steady, ready for any attack but as the Lycan stared at me I felt a sense of kinship? He looked at me from head to toe as if studying my whole body and that was when I realized I was n***d. I looked into its eyes and it was as if he was talking to someone.   The Lycan took a step back, and I did too. I readied myself to his attack but nothing came, instead, he just turned his back on me and left. What was that all about? The whole incident had me wondering and confused all the way home. As I reached the doorstep of our house, I grabbed my bag and went inside the house. “Hey, where have you been?” I hear Alexia ask but my mind is too occupied by my earlier encounter with a Lycan. I kept walking up to my room, and as I reached there I tossed my bag to the side and slammed my n***d body to my bed. Who was that Lycan? Did someone send him? He must be part of the High Guards but this land is far from the High King’s palace; way too far. I felt Alexia’s presence getting closer and I know she’s about to enter my room. I just stared at the ceiling until slowly my bedroom door opened. I ignored her presence and continued to stare at the ceiling. “I met a Lycan ten minutes ago.” I heard her gasped then she sat on my bed beside me. “What?!!!” “I don’t know why, how, or what exactly happened but after probably seeing me, he left. I thought he was gonna attack or capture me but nothing happened; he just left.” Alexia’s lips turned into a thin line, putting her hand under her chin; thinking. “Do you think the High Kingdom sent him? Lycans are under the control of the High King. There’s no other person who has the authority over Lycans; not even the werewolf king.” Alexia’s statement had me thinking. There’s a possibility to what she said but the question is, why? Why would they sent someone to cross many seas just to check on me; or was it me they’re after? I closed my eyes and let out a long sigh, “Let’s just forget about it for the time being and enjoy our lives as human wanna-be’s.” Alexia sighed and gave me a small smile. She got up from bed and rested her hands on her waist. “Get yourself dressed and come downstairs. I already prepared dinner.” Nodding my head I replied, “Sure hon.” Alexia exited the room, closing the door in the process, leaving me alone. We’ve been hiding for so long and I have no plans of getting caught now. ~~~~~~  After a quick shower and getting properly dressed, I descended downstairs and saw Alexia sitting by the table. “The food’s getting colder.” Said Alexia. I rolled my eyes at her and took a seat on the other side of the table. “I’m not sure about this information yet but according to what I heard, starting tomorrow our school will start accepting werewolf students.” I almost choked on my own food as I heard what Alexia just said. I looked at her frowning telling her to elaborate. “Well I…….  I sort of been eavesdropping on the conversation between the school director and the owner of the school and that was when I found out that the owner of the school is a werewolf… well to be more precise, the owner of the school is the King of the werewolves. King Xavier Black.” “I heard tonight is the coronation of his son and in addition to that, the expansion of their lands will be announced tonight.” this is bad. I already detest my life as a student surrounded by humans, what more if I mingled with over-confident, arrogant little mutts. “Kaia, according to the law, rogues are only allowed to go to school if they served the kingdom in exchange for the permission to go to school.” “Alexia, I have no plans on serving anyone. If we agree on those terms with those big-headed mutts, it will take away our freedom. You know that.”  Alexia shrugged her shoulders and took a sip on her usual drink (hot chocolate). “Yeah. That’s one of the disadvantages but if we look on the bright side, we get to stay here. I just hope those mutts won’t get on our bad side……. or should I say, your bad side, because if they do, agreement or not they’re dead. You know I’m always on your side evil or not.” “I know and please stop the drama; it’s giving me goosebumps all over my body.” Alexia laughed and I rolled my eyes at her acts. “Funny.” This made her laugh even harder. “Okay, I’m done.” I raised my hands in defeat and was about to leave but Alexia stopped me. “Wai-t wait. There’s still something I want to tell you.” she’s able to say it in between laughs. I glared at her making her stop but the looks on her face proves that she’s just holding her laughter. “Okay. I talked to the director earlier today and he said he wants us to meet him at his office to discuss some things.” The way she said it as if it was no big deal although she’s right. “Okay. Whatever he’s about to say won’t matter. There’s no guarantee we’ll oblige to those terms because I have no plans of serving anyone. I don’t give a s**t if it’s the king of whatever kingdom.”
