Chapter Thirty-Five Aviary looked up from her laptop to see Gleb and a soldier walk into the office. The soldier placed a fishing tackle box on the table before her and then left, closing the door behind him. ‘You’re not supposed to be unattended,’ Gleb said. ‘You left me alone,’ she said. ‘And besides, if I wanted to cripple your network I would have done it ages ago and you’d all be screwed.’ ‘That’s not reassuring,’ he said. ‘But you’re not screwed. How good’s that?’ Aviary eyed the tackle box. ‘You going fishing?’ ‘Not with stolen Intron tech, no.’ Gleb slumped at his desk, eyes half-closed. ‘Really?’ She reached over to open the box. Without looking at her, he pointed. ‘Don’t even think about it. You just stick to developing that virus for Olesya.’ ‘Done that. Well, mostly.’
