Chapter 8

833 Words
Ven should have anticipated that Fleur would be handsy with him and refuse to get his hands off her. He told her before that she shouldn't be so touchy with him, but she insisted on being too friendly. He wanted to be firm with her but he couldn't raise his voice when speaking to a woman out of the fear of frightening or hurting her feelings. He may have been doing it for the sake of our love but he couldn't imagine how he would feel if I were to ever witness him shouting at another woman. It would give me terrible ideas at his personality and would frighten me away from him before the day of the wedding would arrive, which he couldn't afford to have happen. When he reached his quarters, he opened the door and went inside with Fleur following suit. It was when he turned around and expected her to fix her dress that he realized where he really was. Her luggage was put in a guest bedroom that was designated to her for the entire visit. He realized that he should have taken her there instead. But now that they had arrived, he couldn't drag her across the palace in that state in case anyone would see her. It would be embarrassing for her to be seen in that manner, even though she had intentionally torn the dress herself. Wait in here. I'll ask a servant to find you a replacement dress-" He said, walking around her towards the door. She reached out and grabbed the sleeve of his top before he was out of reach and looked up at him with sullen eyes and pouting lips. "You can't leave me alone... Not while I'm like this," she said in a low tone, averting her eyes from his as an attempt to act innocent. If Ven was not uncertain on what to do before, he definitely was not know. He wanted to leave the confinement of that room, as it had become that now that he was in there alone with Fleur. But she wouldn't allow him to leave. However, if he didn't call for help, then she would have to remain in that dress for who knows how long. "Stop behaving like a child. The banquet will begin soon and I can't keep my guests waiting," Ven said, shaking her hand away from his arm. But Fleur would not allow him to leave just yet. She hurried to stand before him, blocking the passage to the door. The expression on her face showed him that she was beyong irritated. She had been trying to have an intimate moment with him but he insisted on not spending even a few minutes alone with her. "Tell me now. What's so special about that human that you would end our relationship to be with her?" Fleur asked, her voice raised to emphasize how upset she was. Indeed, Ven had to end his relationship with Fleur when he met me. He had never met anyone as kind hearted as I was before and he couldn't help but fall in love with me. Instead of giving Fleur the answer she wanted, his thoughts took him back to the time when he first spoke to me and when he confirmed that what he felt towards me was love. Ven had always been handsome and his smile was one of the most important aspects of him that had Fleur obsessed with him. He hadn't cracked a smile at all since she arrived and she had been desperate to see it. Now that she did, she mistook it to mean that he was warming up to her once again. She took a step closer and when he didn't object to how close she was to him, she moved closer until her chest was pushed up against his. "Come back to me, my prince. I'm better than she is. I have a lot more to offer that you haven't discovered yet," Fleur spoke as she took his hand in hers and guided it to her waist, "... It's not fair to me that our relationship ended so abruptly. It's not fair that you left for some random human slut-" "Ven...?" My low, shaking voice broke Ven's train of thought and interrupted Fleur as she spoke to him. I didn't catch a word of what she said because I was too focused on seeing Ven smiling down at her. They both turned their heads to look at me. Ven was shocked to see me standing by the door, but not as shocked as I was. Having me find him alone with Fleur was the one thing he didn't want to happen but it did because he was careless. He should have ignored Fleur from the moment she stepped out of that carriage but he went along with his mother's wishes and what did that result in? The pained expression on my face as tears streamed down it.
