Sophia found me in the market three days later, pale and afraid in a way I'd never seen from her.
"Ethan is sick," she said.
I lowered my gaze. "I'm sorry." And I was — no matter what he'd done, I never wanted him to suffer.
"You've changed," she said, and something in her expression shifted from fear toward something sharper. "Something happened at the banquet."
"Stop."
"It's him." Her eyes widened. "It's Alpha Damien."
"Sophia—"
"You're in love with him." She was shaking now. "Ethan is losing his mate, and you're falling for his father."
