As I walked down the big staircase, I felt uneasy. My gut told me something was wrong. The house was dark and quiet, which made me even more nervous.
I wanted to figure out what was going on, but I had to look calm. I couldn't let anyone see that I was worried or suspicious, not in this place.
It all began when Lorenzo called me earlier today. When I picked up the phone, I noticed he sounded more worried than usual. I knew something wasn't right even though he didn't tell me what it was.
