I needed to re-read this part because the part about the perfect partner was the part my brain was having a difficult time processing. “A perfect partner? For real?” I looked at Earl when I asked this. In my entire life, this is all I ever wanted. As my words were heard, I saw how eagerly Earl walked to me, and both his parents stepped away, they left to the door, asking the twins, and the Doctor to follow them outside. As they did Earl held me tightly in a warm embrace, I now remembered how I noticed that Earl never laid a finger on me, and didn’t try to do anything either. He was respectful of my boundaries, and I didn’t remember what my boundaries were. There were so many things that I couldn’t remember, so many things I stopped giving importance to, and I simply stopped accepting
