I am standing among the lights and balloons in the garden, people wishing me happy birthday looking around for Jayden and I politely ignore the looks they are sending my way, knowing what they all want to hear, but I act dumb and don’t react.
My mother strolls over to me and puts an arm around my shoulder. “How are you feeling Rayne?”
I smile. “Good, it’s my birthday.” I wiggle my eyebrows and she laughs softly.
