Chapter 19
Abby taped paper over her windows Tuesday night so no one could see inside. When I pulled up with Olivia, she was more than a little scared, but I assured her there weren’t any strippers making an appearance and that it was just for privacy.
When we walked in the door, everyone was already there. Drew and Xander let me leave after lunch so I could help Abby get everything ready. When I left to pick up Olivia, so she could drink and not worry about driving home, Charlie was just getting there with the desserts she’d baked, deciding to bake at Bite Me! instead.
It was strange to walk into SkinnyCakes and smell something other than sugar. We ordered dinner from Nicolino’s for the night so we could enjoy dinner along with all the desserts.
And plenty of wine.
