Another week passed. So far, I have adjusted to the place. My parents are mostly not in the house, they always said that something came up and run wherever they need to be.
School is good. Though the rumor about the Campus Queen and me is still everywhere around the academy, I chose to ignore it. There’s nothing good from rumors, so I decided to see for myself this leader of fairytales.
My uniform is not ready yet, so I am wearing a black jeans paired with a white shirt and my ultimate leather jacket to school. Last week, I’ve been wearing a cap but I won’t be wearing one today.
With my curls bouncing on my back, I walked out of the house. My parents left the car behind said that I should use it to school instead of the bike. I scoffed, they should know better that I love using my bike and besides I really miss her. My parents just brought it yesterday. Those two, they did not tell me they were going to New York.
I just parked my bike and all eyes are on me. Well I can’t blame them, I have been wearing a cap last week, and they just laid eyes on a real beauty right now. I just ignored them and went to class.
My first subject is history. I learned that this school gives much appreciation to history, or more specifically, the history of the academy. Almost the students know about the history of the academy when the teacher last week asked a question.
Surprisingly, my classmates are quiet today even when the teacher is not in the classroom. Only the five girls at the back, which Alquette is one are making sounds. When the teacher came in, the room became utterly quiet.
“Good morning class.” The teacher who’s name I still don’t know said and my classmates greeted back.
“I see Ms. Jones and friends have attended class already. In that case, Ms. Jones will be having the pleasure of answering the first question of todays class.” The one she addressed Ms. Jones, I presume is one of the girls who’s talking a while ago.
“Tell us about Abraham Lincoln Ms. Jones”, The teacher asked eyeing on Ms. Jones who is wearing a ridiculously pink dress like her friends, well except for Alquette who wears a leather jacket and jeans.
“He is the 16th president of the United States. His administration managed the American Civil War that lasted for four years. He is also regarded as America’s greatest heroes.” Ms. Jones answered.
“Well said. But there are some that you missed which we will be discussing.”
“Because she only described Lincoln.” It was supposed to stay on my thoughts as I stare outside the window but as soon as I put my eyes back to the teacher, she was looking at me with eyes that would slay. Then I heard some whispers.
“Did she just said that?”
“I thought I didn’t hear it right,”
“Well, I think the queen just got herself a toy.”
“Too bad for the new girl, but serves her right. She should have known that nobody dares to bad-mouth the queen.”
“I wonder what would they do to her. I hope not too rough on the face, she’s so beautiful.”
Allright, what did I just said to make them look at me? I just gave the teacher an apologetic look and a fake smile.
“I’ll ask you next time Ms……….” The teacher went to her records looking for my name. “Ms. Fern,” she said as soon as she found my name and went back to discussing about Abraham Lincoln.
