As Mr and Mrs Smith got ready for their 22th anniversary, they decided to leave their three kids behind because Alexis had an upcoming exams the next day she needed to read for, twelve years old Lucas was too busy with his crayons and trying to act all grown up while eight years old Betty wanted to play with Lucas.
“are you sure u guys don't want to come with us,I mean it is gonna be fun guys” Danny Smith smiled at his kids
“Dad it's you and moms day ,we don't want to spoil it like we the the previous time, remember what had happened on you guys 22th anniversary right?” Alexis smiled from her reading table as her mom walked into her room with her younger ones.
“How can we ever forget it huh, you guys almost gave us a heart attack how could three kids go missing in an amusement park almost at the same time that was just breathtaking and heart pounding” Lisa Smith laughed as the all joined her
“Well if you guys insist on staying then that's fine”Danny Smith stood up well dressed and held his beautiful wife by the arms and they both kissed their children good night before leaving
“Make sure you don't stay up all night reading Alex you need some rest dear” Lisa said as she kissed her daughter
“Go have a good time mom” Alexis smiled and hug her mom once more
“Make sure you turn off the lights before going to bed, we might be late back home ”Lisa said as she walked towards her husband
“Yeah and no boys Alex” her dad said faking a serious face
“oh c'mon dad you should know me by now”Alexis laughed as she waved them.
She stood watching them drive and get smaller until the reached a bend and finally vanished.
That was the last time she got to see her parents ,the next news about the was that on their way back they had a collision with an incoming truck and their car was sent in the river. They died before the paramedics were able to get to them. Alexis didnt know what to think after that incident she fell into serious depression after that and almost fell into drugs but after a few checkups, she realized that she had two younger ones to take care of . With that being her only motivation she got up and worked her ass off trying to send them to school . When she saw that they couldn't go to school at once because the money was not just there and her college tuition fees were so high,she dropped out of college and decided to look for part time jobs to hustle for some money for her siblings while at night she studied online classes. At first it felt like hell to her ,but she soon adjusted to her life and the only thing that soon mattered in he life were the welfare of her brother and sister. Soon it felt as if she was not their elder sister but rather their mom. She did every thing in her power to make them forget about their parents but moments came on when they asked questions about them especially Little Betty. Alexis currently worked four jobs all week in order to get enough money . On Monday mornings,she served coffee and cookies at a cafe, in the afternoon she was found delivering pizzas all over the street of New York. Same applys for Tuesdays. Then on Wednesdays to Thursdays she spent the day delivering, stamping, calculating and printing at a private firm. Fridays and Saturdays found her working at a fancy restaurant and a nightclub respectively. She was a waitress at the restaurant and was in charge of the bar at the nightclub. With all this jobs on her she had little time for socializing and never cared about what others thought were trending. It was four years since she lost her parents and was forced to life the way she was now and yet it still felt as though it was just yesterday the hospital called in and asked her to come and identify the bodies.
“Hey b***h you make the finest butterscotch I have tasted ” some drunk dude said to her as she kept mixing some cocktails for a customer
“Thanks but don't ever call me a b***h”
“Oh really then why are u then huh? I mean not all hot girls decided to leave collage and decided to bar tend in a club ”
“Hey d**k head you don't know me and I don't know you can we leave it that way and can you just mind your butterscotch while I mind my work” Alexis said as she tried hard to calm down her rising temper
“Oh come on look at me, I am rich, I mean just spend the night with me and I will pay you what they can never dream of paying a normal bartender C'mon” the dude pressed on as he found it difficult to hold his third shot of vodka
“hey dude what's your name again” Alexis said as she stared at him.
By now the people around had gotten interested in their conversation and were wondering what she was going to do to the guy.
“Its Kelvin princesses”he said in voice filled with alcohol.
“Ok Kelvin,look you are really nice with the words and all that...” she trailed off
Kelvin kept smiling and wondering how easy it was to hit a one night stand with the bartender which most of his friends had said was impossible to even hold a conversation with. He was already imagining he he was going to brag to his friends about how bad she was going to be in bed.
I mean hot girls are rarely good in bed trust me I speak from experience.
“...but you really aren't my type besides if u were my type you would not last the night with all that vodka you have taken I doubt you will last 5 minutes” she smirked as the people around bursted into laughter.
“You f*****g lowlife b***h!!!”Kelvin roared as his face got red and her tried to grab her ,but with all the vodka plus the island in-between he couldn't
“Now if you don't mind I have work to do why don't you run along with ur half d**k to some other girl who is interested in a quickie” Alexis said as she wiped the island and went to grab a couple more bottles
“i am gonna make u regret ....” Kelvin couldn't complete his words as he bent over and puked his guts out right in the bar
“ Great you just made me go overtime”Alexis hissed
“YOU ARE SO f*****g FIRED!!!” her Boss Mr Wagner yelled with all the veins popping out of his face.
Jeez dude take a chill pill.
“I really don't understand what I did said wrong sir” she said with a calm and cool voice that infuriated the man the more.
“ Do you know who the f**k you dissed last night”he roared
“ does it really matters” she said as she rolled her eyes at yesterday memories
“ He is the son of the f*****g owner of the building and right he wants you fired or else he is going to shut us down you stupid girl” Wagner yelled
“That is a complete unreasonable excuse to fire me sir,I mean I did nothing wrong"Alexis pressed on
“Im sorry but I can't just hold on to you kiddo” Wagner signed as he slumped back in his chair
“c'mon sir I have done nothing wrong besides you know me so well”
“Yeah I know you and your sharp mouth”Wagner chuckled
“C'mon sir that's just lame. Please you can't fire me ” Alexis begged
“Sorry kid it's either you or our entire business, I mean even if I chose to keep you and he shuts us down were the hell are you gonna bartend huh?”
Alexis realized that he had a point there and she was stuck. The bartend work was the only work which brought her a lot of money. If she was to lose this job right now it would mean she would have to look for two more jobs in order to get the pay which Mr Wagner gave her
“ I can't help you kid I'm sorry the best I can do is to have you resign rather than me firing you ”
“I will send my resignation letter soon”she said as she matched out of the office
The next Sunday was the worst she had ever had. She walked from street to street looking for jobs which offered a reasonable pay but no one need a hot nanny with the fear of her stealing her husband, no one need a hot secretary who could not offer other services ,it just felt so annoying that sometimes Alexis cursed why she was beautiful.
“Hey Alexis are u alright” Lucas asked as he walked into her cramped room were she laid thinking on where she would get a good job. She stared at her now 16 years brother and wondered how fast time flies.
“Yeah I am gonna be fine” she sniffed wiping off a drop tears
“If it's something I can help with please tell me” He said as he sat on her bed
“No its fine don't worry now tell me what do you because you never enter my room caring about me unless you need something” she smirked
“Great you caught me ”He smiled
“You are too easy to read kid” she chuckled
“Yeah Yeah well.... Betty wanted ahh...pizza for the night ..she said she was tired of taking mac and cheese”
“Huh do you mean Betty or you because last I checked Betty loves mac and cheese and she will eat that s**t even if it means all her life” Alexis smiled
“Fine ok it's me who needs pizza I mean f**k who enjoys that s**t” Lucas said
“You two sisters does”
“Please give me someone with more class”he laughed
“Huh so you mean we lack class right ” Alexis said with a glint of mischief in her blue eyes
“Nope no no no that's not what I meant”
“mind explaining yourself young man” Alexis said as she picked up her phone and dialled a number
“what I meant was that ..”
“Hello yeah Pablo's pizza, yeh I would like to order two boxes of pizza..”Alexis went on as Lucas went hyper excited in the background
She realized that their needs were her concerns and she would do anything they needed even if it meant she spends the last money on her.
The next Monday was so hetic as she tired to work hard and make up for the money she had lost but still it was very little compare to what she made from the club. It felt as though all the other work which she did were just useless, that feeling alone made her working spirit so low and bored that she felt disinterested in work.
Thursday came so quickly and Alexis found herself serving rich and wealthy people without manners and down to earth rude attitudes. As she was bringing a plate of food for a table , she bumped into a guy
“Oh s**t” the voice sounding very familiar to her
“Am so sorry sir” She said as she struggled to keep the glassware balanced with out spilling it's contents
“Well look who is it” Kelvin smiled evily
“For f**k sake ” she hissed and walked pass him
“Hey don't ever walk away from me ”
“Oh yeah and what are you gonna do about that huh”
“ I could make your life miserable”he smiled
“Good luck with that” she scoffed and walked away
“I said never walk away from me you b***h” he yelled as he grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back. The glassware were sent crashing down the ground as the whole restaurant turned towards their direction
“Let go of my hair you motherfucker”she yelled as she took a swing back and punched him in the face
“Argh” he staggered back with a broken nose
“Hey ENOUGH!!” A loud voice boomed
When Alexis turned towards the voice ready to defend herself the most cutest man strolled up to the with a killer look on his face
“Are you crazy sir ,how dare you grab my woman like that” he said as he glared at Kelvin with a look that could kill
“ woah hold up dude , your woman??” Alexis choked on her words as she stared at him
“ Are you ok , Veronica” He asked as he held her
“Veronica?!”she said puzzled
“What in heavens name are you wearing” He asked as he held her
“hold up dude do I know you” Alexis asked as she tried to wiggle away from his grip
“Did he hurt you in any way” The weird stranger asked her
“hey dickhead let her go I want done talking to her yet ” Kelvin said as he tried to wipe off his bloody nose
“What did you just call me ”
“dickh...."
Before Kelvin could complete his words a punch landed on his face and he went down to the ground this time without getting back up
“Oh my God is he dead” Alexis said
“He will be fine now you come with me let's get rid of that thing you are wearing and get you something better”
She was too stunned to say anything but yet found herself following his lead. When they got to his car there was a woman waiting for him there.
“Excuse me who are you” the stranger asked the woman waiting at his car
“Seriously Nathan I leave you for a moment and you got into a fight with some dude what got into.....” the woman stopped as she tired and saw Alexis
Nathan let out an involuntary gasp as fast as he let go of Alexis arm
“What the f**k is going on here ” he asked in a confused voice
“ You should be asking me too”The two girls said as they stared at each other.
They were mirror versions of themselves. They looked almost alike that it was very easy to confuse one for the other.
“How are you.....me??” Alexis stammered
“I am the one to be asking such question”Veronica said as she walked closer to Alexis and touched her as if to make sure that she is not dreaming.
“Can somebody explain to me how two strangers look so perfectly alike ” Nathan cried out
“Babe I am still trying to figure how she had a perfect plastic surgery to look just like me” Veronica said
“What the f**k are you trying to say please b***h who looks like me this is pure natural skin you are seeing, I have better things doing than trying to look like myself " Alexis said and matched off
“ wait ,I'm sorry I didn't mean to be rude ”Veronica said as she stepped into Alexis path
“ Can you met us up tomorrow please I just wanna talk ”
“About what”
“It more private,You can call it a business proposal”
At the mention of Business proposal Alexis agreed to meet the couple at the cafe the next morning.
The next morning when she arrived the cafe and was told what kind of business it was she froze on her sit wondering if she heard that well
“ Please could you come again” she crocked
“I said I want you to pretend to be me and get married on my behalf”
