The Attack

*Chance POV* Thoughts flooded my head as the drive back home took longer than normal. I must find her, I don't care what rank she is, I must find her. When you have a true mate, she is going to be what makes you stronger. It's what makes the pack stronger. An Alpha without its Luna makes life empty, and the pack isn't whole until she is found. I kept the link with the warriors that were sent out to each pack looking for her. I was so beside myself I didn't ask for her name, or what she looked like. My wolves are angry about wanting to be with her. We waited so long for her, we must find her...they repeated in my head. I couldn't help but wonder what she looked like. The thought of having her in my arms again flooded my mind. I want her safe, I want her with me. Yet why did she become a rouge? I wanted her safe and I wanted her to be marked and mine. The thought of kissing her and making love to her made my d**k hard. Oh, how I waited so long to have that in my life. No matter how many women threw themselves at me, or my mother sent my way, I only wanted my mate. I saved myself for her. I have kissed and pleasured many, but I never had s*x with any of them. Lost in my thoughts, I heard "Alpha.... Alpha... we have a lead that rouges have gathered near our Pack and are about to hit the homes on the outskirts," said Loki. As much as it pains me, I have to put my mate aside and get back to the pack. We are limited on warriors since the others have been at the other packs looking for my mate. I didn't call them back, but I had to keep looking. Once I get home, I will handle the rogues. Until then, the warriors must hold them off. "Loki, have the warriors prepare for an attack, step on it, and get us home," I said. As the car began to speed up. Loki had informed me that the warriors were heading to the outskirts and hopefully would reach there in time before the attack began. My mind raced to make sure my pack was safe, but at the same time, I was worried about my mate. She was alone, probably cold, and hungry. The way her room was, I could tell she wasn't being taken care of and the anger boiled within me. How could pack leaders not only not take care of their pack, but relish their wealth? My wolves were trying to force themselves forward as these thoughts went through my head. I had to stay in the car because my pack needed me and if her scent were to be around I wouldn't be able to protect them. My wolves would take over and go to her. Even two wolves could put me in danger. If one of my wolves comes under attack and loses, we will suffer the loss as well. So both need to stay together. Which they are powerful together. We reached the pack border. I could sense the pack's fear. Not knowing how many rogues are near. Our car came to a stop as we came up to some warriors. "Alpha, we have begun reaching the outskirts of the houses and evacuating them to the safe house. We also called in the older warriors to help out. We were told there were at least 40 rogues nearby. We haven't heard from our scouts about the exact location of the rogues, and we have a few more remaining houses to evacuate," said Brandon my Gamma. "Okay, keep trying to reach your scouts, send a patrol to begin making a wall of protection, and call the healer to the front lines to prepare for their need," I said as I began communicating with my pack to head to the safe house. I had to place my mate in the back of my mind, so I could focus. "Please be safe," I whispered to myself. Loki, tailed behind me, worrying about me knowing how hard it is to walk away from not having my mate. "Loki stood to the far left with the warriors. Brandon took the far right as I would take the middle. I will send a few warriors to the back just in case they try to attack from the rear," I told them as they began to follow the orders. Our land is massive, we have homes scattered miles apart from each other outside the town. We can't spare any more warriors, so calling the pack to the safe house is the best mindset. My parents live about an hour away and have been notified to protect their land as well, even though it's in the same boundaries, I can't chance an attack if they send the warriors to us. Even though we live in the modern world, we still use basic weapons because the only thing that can kill a wolf is a steel bullet, steel arrow, bomb, or our head being cut off. Steel is our weakness. It can shut down our healing process and that can be deadly. Wolfsbane is a plant that, if used correctly, can also paralyze the wolf within, so you are a human while that plant is in you. We don't even know what's going to happen when it comes to rogues, so we treat it as a serious attack on the pack. Our wolves are our greatest weapons of all. They are the strongest, and fastest, of our human form. Just then, a mind link came through the rogues went from 40 to 50, and they were about to attack. Geri wanted to come out first, as I began to mind-link the others to prepare for the attack. Shifting isn't like what you see on TV where every bone breaks in your body, we shift through our spiritual body, allowing us to flow into each other, which will cause the human form to be weak once we form back. Once Geri has come forward, everyone notices how big and black he is. He is the same as Freki, with deep red eyes, dark black fur, and three red marks on the back of the fur. We began to run, which didn't take long to reach where the attack had begun. Our Pack has side marks of what pack they belong to that are given to them once they join. It's the Moon crest logo to represent the Moon Stone Pack. We see a bunch of solid black marks with bright moon-colored marks intertwined with each other. I make it there to start yanking off those who are being overrun by them. Geri loves battle as he tears into rouges one after another. Freki is impatient wanting to break out also enjoy the battle. As anger flows from me seeing how my pack is being attacked, Geri starts to become more ferocious in attacking the rogues. He begins to tear each one's neck out, so healing won't happen, and they bleed out choking on their blood before their life dissipates. The battle raged on for what seemed like hours before getting word that some of the rogues had begun to go to the right. Something caught their attention. Just as I was about to take off, a mind link came across that there were still pack members nearby. I was attacked by 6 rogues at the same time. I wasn't gonna allow myself to be defeated by some worthless rogues.
