My mouth is dry, it feels like it was clogged with cotton balls. My head is spinning, and I can see light behind my closed lids. I can hear the sound of a steady beep. Over and over. Beep beep beep. There's a soft humming sound, so faint it's barely auditable.
I strain to open my eyes, pools of bright white light flooding my vision. It stings, bringing tears to my eyes, that are burning now. So dry from being closed far too long.
I bring my hand to wipe at my eye and wave of burning hot pain races up my side, radiating through my entire abdomen.
"f**k!" I let out a gasp, as my breathing goes ragged. That f*****g hurt. Holy s**t. The pain lingers still, slowly fleeting into a tolerable hum.
