The elevator was a steel cage, and Sarah Vance was the warden standing on the other side of the six-inch gap. "Drop the weapon!" Sarah screamed, her gun barrel thrust through the opening. "I swear to God, I will drop you right here!" Noah pressed his back against the rear wall of the elevator cab. He wasn't looking at her gun. He was looking at her knuckles. White, shaking, terrified.
