Chapter Ten

(Unknown POV)     My father was making me go to this stupid meeting at the red half moon pack even though I’m not an alpha.  He want’s me to find my mate eventually and since I have my wolf I’m old enough to find her.  I argued with him and said I didn’t want to go but eventually I gave in because I wasn’t going to win this battle.  We were leaving in the morning.  I honestly don’t want a mate, I just don’t see the appeal.  I know Gunner has been arguing with me this entire time about how he wants a mate and I don’t.     “Teival hurry and finish packing, I want to leave by dawn since it’s a four hour drive and I want to get there early!” my father shouted at me.  I rolled my eyes and did as he asked.  I honestly couldn’t care less but since I was going to be the future alpha I need to learn this s**t ugh.  Why did I have to be born first.                                                                                   (Willows POV)     “Slave hurry up and finish cleaning!” my father screeched at me.  I mentally rolled my eyes as it’s not my fault the entire pack is made up of nothing but slobs and lazy asses.  As soon as I finished cleaning I was told to go to my room and stay there till I was told I could come out to clean.  I’m happy there at least was a small bathroom by my bedroom in the attic.     As soon as everyone was asleep Amber came by to see me as per usual.  I smiled and waved at her, still wishing I could actually talk.     “Hey how you holding up?” she signed to me.  I shrugged my shoulders.     “I could complain but there isn’t anything that would make it better” I signed back.  She sighed and I knew she felt bad even though none of this was her fault.  Of course she would never listen to me about it as she would argue and say I’m her sister and shouldn’t be treated like this.     “So tomorrow all the Alphas in the surrounding area are coming over, and I am not looking forward to it since I’m expected to make an attempt to find a mate” Amber sighed in annoyance.  I just gave her a small smile.  I was ok with this because I would have a chance for my body to finish healing and I could get caught up on sleep.  Plus I could sew uninterrupted as well.     “I have a few days worth of food here for you, I know I won’t be able to really see you until the meeting and mate dance are over but this is the best I can really do right now without either of us getting in a lot of trouble.  I promise as soon as this week is over you can take a nice long hot shower in my bathroom” Amber said smiling at me.  I nodded.  We talked a little more before she had to go back to her room.  I went to sleep as I was exhausted and honestly was happy I would have a kind of weird break.     I woke up and quietly made my way to my small bathroom to take care of my business, then I came back and just decided to lay in bed and stare at the ceiling.  It’s been a long time since I could just lay back and do nothing.  After half an hour of this I decided to sweep my room quickly and then get some sewing done.  I wanted to make another blanket since the one I had was about to fall apart and wasn’t really big enough for me anymore.     I have no idea how long I had been working on the blanket before I heard a knock at my door.  I got scared because no one is supposed to be up here.  Unfortunately I also had no where to hide.  The door began to open and I was on the verge of tears.  A boy with blonde hair poked his head in and I slowly stopped crying.  He seemed to be the same age as my sister, and I had no idea who he was but I did know I thought he was rather cute.     “Hey are you okay” the boy said as he approached me.  I nodded my head and he sat next to me on my makeshift bed.     “My name is Ansel, what’s yours?” he asked.  I tried to sign my name but he just looked kind of confused.      “Can you speak?” he asked, I shook my head no.  He seemed to be thinking for a moment before grabbing a phone out of his pocket and opening an app.     “Here you can type what you want to on here that way we can communicate” He said smiling.  I was overwhelmed with joy since this was the first time anyone other than my sister had been kind to me at all.  I told him my name is Willow and that I’m 13.     “That’s such a pretty name, and I’m 16.  I’m the son of Alpha Talamonti” he said.  I think I remember him.  Anytime he came over he always seemed to be a nice person.  Then again I’ve never been allowed to talk or been seen by anyone who isn’t apart of this pack.     “So is this your room?” Ansel asked.  I nodded my head.  He looked around with what seemed like an unreadable expression.     “How come you don’t talk?” he asked.  I told him because I’m mute from an incident that happened a few months ago.     “Where are your parents?” he asked a bit concerned since he realized I was sleeping on a makeshift mattress in an attic.     “They don’t want me.  I was forced into being a slave practically my entire life.  The only person who treats me like a human being is my sister Amber” I typed.  He seemed to be in deep thought.  He then got up and left my room.  I began worry thinking I’m f****d.  I laid in my bed and began to silently cry.     I woke up to someone shaking me awake.  I opened my eyes and was panicking thinking that my father came up here to yell and beat me for talking to anyone outside of our pack.  I looked and saw Amber with Ansel.
