Chapter Nineteen

                                                                        Ambers POV

    I was excited to finally be back home. Summer training wasn’t really awful but I couldn’t help but worry about Willow. I wasn’t able to be here and try to keep her safe or supply her with food or meds. I’m going to try and do my best to care for her. I looked up after being lost in thought and I saw I had just pulled up to the pack house. I got out of the car and was surrounded by my parents and other pack members.

    “Oh sweetie I missed you so much, '' my mother said as she pulled me into a hug. I tried my best not to tense and hug her back even though I wanted nothing to do with her right now. My father came over and hugged me as well. Right now I just wanted to be away from my family but I couldn’t. My father had the omegas bring my stuff to my room.

    “My daughter I am so proud of you, I heard you have done really well at training. You did really well on the tests and even could hold your own in self defense too. I’m sure Travel will be really happy to hear about this as well" my father said to me. I perked up at hearing him mention Teival. I hope he had done ok since I hadn’t heard much from him over the summer and hadn’t seen him once. I was rather sad cause I was lucky to hear from him once a week and that was just over text. He hadn’t called me once and that kind of hurt a little bit.

    “Dad when can I see Teival, I haven’t seen him all summer and I barely heard from him at all” I said. He seemed to be thinking for a moment.

    “I’ll ask Alpha Ray and see what he thinks since he’d been wanting Teival to focus on his training this summer” My father said. I was a little hopeful I’d get to see him soon. I loved being next to him and holding his hand. He made me feel amazing and I couldn’t wait to complete the mating ceremony with him. I’d have to wait till I graduated high school though and it felt like forever. I went up to my room to unpack and get ready for school tomorrow. I would go and see Willow later tonight and bring her some food and let her take a shower since it’s been a few months and I don’t think it’s enjoyable having to use a sink to wash yourself. Once I knew for certain that everyone in the Packhouse had gone to bed I snuck upstairs to Willow's room. She was awake and smiled at me. I motioned for her to follow me and let her take a shower to properly wash herself. Afterwards I gave her some non scented lotion that helps soothe aches and pains and makes it easier to sleep. She then went back to her room. I wanted to ask her about what happened while I was away but I needed to let her shower and make sure she was ok. I figured tomorrow night I’d talk to her since I’ll be able to replenish her food and first aid kit during the day.

    I woke up and went about my usual morning routine for school which consisted of making my bed, getting dressed, and putting on a little makeup since I liked how it looked on me. I then left to go to school after I ate breakfast of course. At school I met up with my friends who were wondering where I was during the summer. Since they too were werewolves, because father wouldn’t let me be friends with humans, I told them about my summer training and how I was going to be the future Luna of the dark moon pack. They were excited for me and they asked me about my mate. We talked for a bit and then it was time for me to go to class.

    The day went by relatively quickly for me as I enjoyed school since I didn’t have to worry about anyone. Even though I love my sister so much I allow myself to shed my worries while I’m at school to maintain my sanity. It helped a great deal. I do sometimes feel guilty but I also know I can’t help her if I don’t take care of myself either. As the school day ended I had about thirty minutes to go to the store and buy things for Willow before I had to go to after school training. I grabbed some granola bars, protein bars, and whatever else that was shelf stable for her. Then I went to training since the meds I’d get would be from the pack clinic. I made sure to only take what there was a surplus of so I wouldn’t take something someone else may need. Training also went by quickly as it was only two hours a day during the school week for me.

    Once again I waited till everyone had fallen asleep before I went to Willow room with the food and medicine I had for her. She was still awake when I came in. I gave her the stuff and then began signing to her.

    “So how was summer for you while I was away?” I asked. She looked at me for a moment before signing back to me that everything was alright. She told me about a pack member who had been touching her inappropriately and how he was later found dead with his innards ripped out and strewn about with the words child predator or something like that burned into the ground near his corpse. Then she told me how she went for little runs in the morning with Sumeria to keep her healing abilities in good shape and that she’d sometimes hunt so she wouldn’t be starving. I was shocked by all of this information she gave me. I didn’t know how to react to it. I was horrified that someone touched my little sister, but I was also happy they were killed. I hugged her and told her I was so sorry about all that happened to her. She began to cry and I let her. She probably had been keeping it buried for a while now. Once she had calmed down and I knew she was ok I put her to bed, rubbed her back and sang her a lullaby till she fell asleep.
