Thirty-FourMadison was sickened to learn that Westwick had wanted to kill Michael and Elaine's baby, though he had sworn to Henry he would do no such thing. Madison's Catholic guilt would never allow a child to be murdered. He had to come up with an alternate plan that Hardin would buy.
“Hold on, here, Hardin,” Madison pushed back. “You can't just snatch a kid and kill it. You'd never get away with it. I have a better plan and I know a guy who can pull it off with no one the wiser.”
“And who is this master mind? What's to say he wouldn't talk and blow us all to hell?”
“I won't tell you who he is any more than I will tell him who you are. Just trust me he is the best at what he does. The child will disappear without a trace and no one will ever be able to connect you to the crime.”
