60. Cruel

Me and Dr. Cruor chase them into the hallway and start yelling at the same time. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?" "WE ARE NOT HERE FOR YOU TO RUN YOUR SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS ON PEOPLE!" "THIS MAN COULD HAVE DIED!" "WHAT ABOUT HIS MATE AND FAMILY?" "DID YOU THINK ABOUT ANY OF THAT?" "AND TO STAB SOMEONE INTENTIONALLY WITH POISON!"

They are already gone and I don't know which one of us yelled more or even who said what.

"So how's the patient?" Dorseti smiles.

"He'll live. But I don't know if there will be any long-term effects. We'll have to have plenty of follow-ups."

Dr. Cruor checks the blood drip. "Let's get his bones back into place for now."

2 hours later, I'm standing at the nurse's desk twirling my sword. Waiting for one of those two to come in. I know they will and they are not going to have arms left after they do. I start pacing in front of the desk staring at the door.

Mary is sitting at the desk knitting and laughing.

The door opens and they both come in. I go for them waving the sword around. "REALLY? YOU STABBED HIM?"

Tre grabs Dipak by the back of his clothes and drags him out. "Not yet."

I run after them. "GET BACK HERE NOW! BOTH OF YOU!"

I chase them all the way to my dads office. "She's still mad sir."

"HOW COULD YOU?" I start pacing again. "YOU COULD HAVE KILLED THAT MAN!"

"Princess calm down."

"Daddy don't!" I stare at them all sitting at their little table. "WHO DID IT? WHICH ONE OF YOU PUT POISON IN THAT MAN?"

"That's not important princess."

I point the sword at him. "DON'T DADDY! TELL ME WHICH ONE OF YOU WAS IT?" I point the sword around at all of them. "NOW!"

Gunner peeks at me. "It was another guard."

"UNDER WHOSE ORDER? YOU ALL KNOW HOW BAD THAT HURTS AND TO PUT IT INTO HIS BODY WHILE HE WAS FULLY AWAKE!"

"My order princess." Daddy puts an eyebrow up.

"I'M GOING TO GO GET THAT f*****g TOE AND STAB YOU ALL WITH IT! STAY HERE!" I slam the door so hard it cracks.

Tre says, "We should probably go somewhere else." I hear chairs moving as I exit the wing.

"I WILL FIND YOU!"

I go back to the medical area and pace. I am so mad. What would I have done if it would have been one of them begging me for help and crying. The thought is so scary. I would never want to see either of them lying there like that. I don't think I could handle that.

"That was horrible Mary, and it could have been one of them. What would I have done if it was one of them lying there? I don't even think I could open them up."

"You would be surprised what you can do when you have to princess. You are strong and brave. Always have been."

"I think I'm calm enough to go back up there. They might still be in hiding though."

I get back to my dads office and they are all the table again. The door is off now. I sit in my seat.

"Why did you do that?"

Daddy nods. "We were trying to see if antidote on the skin was enough of a barrier for a stab of one of those toes."

"Daddy."

"Princess." He looks at me funny.

"He begged me for help. He was crying in pain daddy. I watched blisters run through all of his internal organs. That was cruel. The guards are not here for you to do experiments on."

"You're right princess. We should have worked with you on this part. We should have let you make him unconscious first. But he did agree to it. We didn't stab him out of nowhere."

"If there is a next time. Do it in one of my rooms and inform me of what is going on. What would have happened if me and Dr. Cruor were already with other patients? How long would that man have been lying there crying in pain?"

"Yes princess. I understand that now."

I turn to Tre and Dipak. "And next time I tell you to stop so I can chop your arms off. Stop! Don't make me chase you all over the damn castle. Hold still and let me chop you to pieces."

Dipak smiles at me and winks.

Tre just smirks.

"UUGGHHH" I throw my hands up. Boys. "I'm going out tonight."

I go back to the medical area and sit down on the desk.

Dorseti has her eyebrows up. "Are we still mad at both of them?"

"Yes."

Elkie starts laughing. "But whose going to bring us food now?"

I can't help but laugh at that.

Dorseti sits on the desk beside me. "So which one is the better kisser?"

"I STILL DON'T KNOW."

Elkie sits on the other side of me and we all start laughing.

The doors open and here comes Tre and Dipak again. They are carrying stuff this time.

We all spin around on the desk looking at them. Elkie whispers, "Don't forget we're mad Dorseti."

She whispers back, "I know. I know. I'll threaten their man parts."

Tre speaks first. "Now don't get mad."

"I WILL CUT BOTH OF YOUR MAN PARTS OFF. DOCTOR WHERE IS THAT SWORD?" They take a couple steps back and look at me.

"In my office Dorseti." I point down the hall. She jumps off the desk and starts for it.

Dipak yells, "WE BROUGHT FOOD." We all stare at him and Dorseti sits back down beside me. "We brought you ladies some nice cake and fruit." He pulls out some cake. "Nice sweet cake for nice sweet pretty ladies."

They get the food out for us and start putting it on dishes. Once we start eating Tre speaks again. "You can not go out until the threat of the beings is over."

I try to start yelling but I choke on cake instead. Elkie starts patting me on the back.

Tre starts speaking faster, "There is a festival about 20 minutes by carriage from here."

Dipak takes over, "You can go if you take us with you."

I finally stop choking. I throw a grape in my mouth and yell, "MARY!"

She comes around the corner reading something. "I didn't see anything this time." She looks up at both of them standing there. "Oh maybe I should have."

I laugh a little bit. "Mary, do you want some cake? And we're going out after dinner. Are those human dresses ready?" Both boys smile.

"Almost, I can go finish them now, little miss and that stuff is to sweet for me."

"Ok." I smiled at the boys. "That will be fine. And neither of you can stop dances cause you feel like it." I point at them. "Or I will come back here and get Dorseti and the sword."

Elkie busts out laughing. "She really wants to cut off someone's man parts. So I would suggest being on your best behavior guys."

Dorseti smiles sweetly. "You should back up slowly now guys. All the way out."

As soon as they leave we all bust out laughing.

"I'll check for a couple more dresses. Maybe we can all go out dancing sometime."

Elkie throws some cake in her mouth. "Oh I'm sure they would love that. 4 girls to watch."
