2009 Words

As I open the door, I'm surprised to see Lara there with a lollipop stick poking out of her mouth.  Today she’s dressed in one of my hoodies and a pair of beige shorts. Her hair’s let loose to cascade down to her shoulders and the baseball cap is positioned back wards.  “Lara?” I ask with a hint of surprise underlining my voice.  Wasn’t expecting her to be here honestly. I tilt my head to the side. Why is she here though? Didn’t she say her mom’s taking her to her work place today?  But now that she’d here, it’s obvious the plan didn’t push through. I take a step aside and usher her to come inside.  “What are you doing here?” At the end of my question, she mirrors the exact surprised face I’m showing. Flickering her hair to the side, she tilts her head to the side and arches a perplex
