The two visitors remained standing next to Pamela, who struggled to maintain her smile.
“Boys, thank you so much for visiting me! How are things going?”
“We came to hear from you first, Pamela,” Wallace said vehemently. “Any news?”
“I’ll be leaving here next week. I’m going to finish my recovery at home,” Pamela said in a single breath.
As she looked at the calm Josias, Pamela began to wonder what had happened to her older sister’s promise. Had Carmen ever told Melissa that Josias got her pregnant? Had Melissa and Josias already fought? She decided to take a chance.
“And you, Josias, how are you and Melissa? Is everything okay with my best friend?”
“We’re doing great. She already told you that we’re dating, right?” Josias replied, smiling.
