Chapter 16
When David realized it was Rachel's picture on the cover of Modern Medicine, he let out a yell that brought Jack and Diane scrambling out of Burnie's office.
"David!" cried Jack. "What's wrong? What happened?" David stood completely still. He didn't answer for several seconds but just stared at the magazine in his hands. Then he turned and shoved the magazine at Jack.
"She's alive," he whispered, and then shouted, "She's alive! My God! She's alive!"
David grabbed Diane in a crushing hug, lifting her up and twirling her around the room. Jack looked down at the magazine that displayed the beautiful dark-haired woman on its cover. The caption below the photo read "Left for Dead.”
